This page covers everything you need — from choosing the right seats at Highmark Stadium to knowing what to expect when you arrive on match day.

About Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC bring professional soccer to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a longtime club in the USL Championship. Founded in 1998 and beginning play in 1999, the Riverhounds compete in the league’s Eastern Conference and have built a strong identity in the second tier of the U.S. professional soccer pyramid. With black and gold colors and an independent club structure (no MLS parent affiliation), Riverhounds matches deliver an authentic local soccer experience.

The club plays at Highmark Stadium, a soccer-specific stadium on Pittsburgh’s South Side along the Monongahela River. Opened in 2013 with a capacity of approximately 5,000, the venue’s compact layout creates an intimate, close-to-the-action environment. Fans are positioned near the pitch, and the riverfront setting—paired with the downtown Pittsburgh backdrop—helps make Riverhounds match day feel uniquely Pittsburgh.

In the modern era, the Riverhounds have been known as a consistently competitive side in the Eastern Conference. Under head coach Bob Lilley, the team has developed a reputation for disciplined, structured soccer and consistent playoff appearances—making certain dates on the calendar especially popular. For fans prioritizing specific opponents, weekend matches, or postseason races, browsing Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC tickets early is the smartest move.

Highmark Stadium is a compact, soccer-specific stadium designed to keep fans close to the pitch. With seating along the touchlines and behind the goals, it’s a great venue for choosing your ideal vibe—whether you want a tactical view from midfield or to post up near a loud supporters’ end.

Best Seats for Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC Games

The right seat depends on what kind of match day experience you're after:

  • Best value: End sections and supporters’-section areas behind the goals — a budget-friendly way to be part of the noise and energy
  • Closest to the action: Sideline seating close to the pitch — feel every sprint, challenge, and run of play up close
  • Best overall view: Center sideline seats near midfield — strong sightlines as play develops across the pitch
  • For groups and premium experiences: Club and premium/hospitality seating and field-level options along the main sideline — added comfort for special outings

If you’re organizing a group outing or targeting a high-demand date, it’s smart to lock in seats early so you can keep everyone together.
