About Monterey Bay FC

Monterey Bay FC bring affordable, family-friendly soccer to the Monterey Bay area as a USL Championship club based in Seaside, California. Founded in 2021 and beginning play in 2022, the team competes in the USL Championship’s Western Conference as an independent franchise without a parent-team affiliation.

Monterey Bay FC plays home matches at Cardinale Stadium, a compact venue on the CSUMB campus with a capacity of approximately 6,000. Originally built in 1949 and serving as the club’s home since 2022, the stadium’s soccer-specific feel keeps you close to the pitch, with an atmosphere shaped by a dedicated supporters’ section bringing chants, banners, and steady noise on match day.

With the USL Championship’s deep Western Conference schedule, matchups can draw sharper demand based on opponent appeal, date, and the stakes around the playoff picture. For popular dates and higher-demand opponents, browsing Monterey Bay FC tickets early is the smartest move.

Getting Ready for Monterey Bay FC Match Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially in a compact stadium environment where arrival timing and entry lines can shape your start to match day.

  • Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Cardinale Stadium gets congested on match days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
  • Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
  • Arrive early. Gates typically open approximately one hour before the opening whistle, so give yourself extra time for entry and security.
  • Public Transit: Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) serves the Seaside/CSUMB area near the stadium, which can be a convenient option on match day.
  • Parking: On-site and campus lot parking is available at California State University, Monterey Bay.
  • Bag Policy: Cardinale Stadium uses a clear-bag policy consistent with USL standards; small clutch bags are typically permitted, while larger bags and backpacks are generally prohibited.
  • Payment/Cashless: Bring a card or mobile payment — Cardinale Stadium is cashless.
