About Grant Thornton Invitational

The Grant Thornton Invitational is an annual mixed-team golf tournament held each December at Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida. Debuting in 2023, the event stands out because it brings PGA Tour and LPGA Tour players together in a format that’s rare in professional golf, creating a true joint-tour showcase in an off-season window.

The tournament is played as two-player teams, pairing one PGA Tour player with one LPGA Tour player. It unfolds over three competition days with rotating formats across the rounds—scramble, foursomes (alternate shot), and modified four-ball (better ball)—with the team posting the lowest cumulative score crowned Grant Thornton Invitational champions. With a multi-million-dollar purse shared among the teams, the stakes include both winnings and bragging rights in a marquee mixed-team setting.

The inaugural 2023 title went to Lydia Ko and Jason Day, and the event’s field composition has been built around elite names from both tours. The venue is the Gold Course at Tiburón Golf Club, a Greg Norman–designed layout that opened in 1998 and is known for its coquina-sand waste areas and no rough, all set within The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort complex. If you’re planning to attend Grant Thornton Invitational, browsing tickets early is the smartest move.

Getting Ready for Grant Thornton Invitational Tournament Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially for a walk-the-course event where you’ll likely cover plenty of ground across the day.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Cellular service near large events can get congested on tournament days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
• Arrive early. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand dates.
• Bag policy: Check the bag policy before you go so there are no surprises at the entrance.
• Parking: Use designated on-site or nearby tournament parking lots for the Naples venue.
• Rideshare: Plan your rideshare pickup point — post-event pickups can take longer than expected.
• Payment/cashless: Bring a card or mobile payment — many vendors are cashless.
• What to bring: Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), and weather-appropriate layers for Southwest Florida December conditions.
