About the Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets have been part of the NBA story since the original franchise began play in 1988, and the team’s identity is deeply tied to Charlotte’s basketball culture. The current Charlotte franchise entered the league in 2004 as the Charlotte Bobcats before reclaiming the Hornets name, colors, and franchise records in 2014. The Hornets’ history is filled with memorable eras and stars, including Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, Muggsy Bogues, and modern franchise icon Kemba Walker.

The Hornets play at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, a modern Arena located in Uptown Charlotte. Opened in 2005 and renamed Spectrum Center in 2016, the building features modern amenities, extensive renovations completed in recent years, and a large center-hung scoreboard. With a basketball capacity of approximately 19,077, the arena’s game-night presentation leans into the team’s teal-and-purple identity for an energetic “Buzz City” atmosphere.

Charlotte competes in the Eastern Conference, Southeast Division, where familiar matchups help shape the season and can drive strong ticket demand. Rivalries and frequent competitive meetings with teams like the Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks, Washington Wizards, and Orlando Magic are often among the most anticipated dates on the calendar. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing Charlotte Hornets tickets early is the smartest move.

How Much Do Charlotte Hornets Tickets Cost?

Charlotte Hornets tickets typically range from around $15–$40 for upper-level seats to $60–$200 or more for lower-bowl and club seats, with suites and hospitality packages running higher.

Pricing is most influenced by the opponent (marquee teams and star power can spike demand), the day of the week (weekend vs. weekday), and overall demand factors tied to team performance. Availability related to LaMelo Ball can also affect demand for certain matchups. For budget-friendly options, upper-level seats are often the go-to choice, while premium lower-bowl locations tend to move quickly for high-interest games.

No hidden fees. At Box Office Ticket Sales, the price you see is the price you pay. All fees are shown before checkout — no surprise charges when you reach the final step.

Best Seats for Charlotte Hornets Games

The right seat depends on what kind of game night experience you’re after:

• Best value: Upper-bowl 300 level sections — especially corners and areas behind the baskets — offer an elevated full view, strong crowd energy, and a lower price point
• Closest to the action: Lower bowl 100 level seats — feel the pace up close on every possession
• Best overall view: Center-court sections along the sidelines in the lower bowl — excellent sightlines near courtside areas to see plays develop across the court
• For groups and premium experiences: Courtside seats, lower-bowl premium sections, suites, and club seating — added comfort and a premium setting for groups or special occasions

If you’re organizing a group outing or targeting a high-demand matchup, it’s smart to lock in seats early so everyone can sit together.

Getting Ready for Charlotte Hornets Game Night

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially in Uptown Charlotte, where traffic and pregame crowds can build quickly around Spectrum Center.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Spectrum Center gets congested on game nights. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
• Arrive early. Doors typically open approximately 90 minutes before tip-off. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand nights.
• Use public transit if you can. Spectrum Center is served by the CATS LYNX Blue Line light rail and bus routes in Uptown Charlotte, with stations within walking distance of the arena.
• Plan your rideshare. Use the designated rideshare pickup and drop-off zones near the arena in Uptown Charlotte, and expect post-game pickups to take longer than usual.
• Check the bag policy before you go. Spectrum Center follows an NBA-standard clear-bag policy; small clutch bags and medically necessary items are generally permitted, with larger bags and backpacks prohibited.
• Bring a card or mobile payment. Spectrum Center is cashless (credit/debit and mobile payments accepted), with cash-to-card kiosks available.
• Parking is available nearby. There are numerous parking decks and lots throughout Uptown Charlotte within walking distance of the arena.
