Show Information

Mystère premiered on December 25, 1993, at Treasure Island Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The production is an original Cirque du Soleil acrobatic spectacle directed by Franco Dragone, with music composed by Benoît Jutras and costume design by Dominique Lemieux. It was created by the Cirque du Soleil creative team, building on the company's style of circus arts, theater, dance, and original live music.

The show is a long-running resident production at the Mystère Theatre inside Treasure Island on the Las Vegas Strip. Mystère runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission, and performances continue multiple times per week. Its structure combines large-scale acrobatic acts, aerial sequences, balancing work, dance, comedy, and live score elements into a fast-moving theatrical experience designed specifically for its Las Vegas venue.

Story Summary

Mystère is a self-contained acrobatic spectacle built around a sequence of production numbers, aerial acts, comedy, music, and theatrical imagery. The show is unified by themes of life, birth, and the wonder of discovery, using movement, sound, color, and physical artistry to create a world that feels playful, surreal, and larger than life.

Across the performance, the tone shifts from awe-inspiring athleticism to delicate moments of balance and flight, then into comic interludes that invite audience interaction. Large-scale group acts bring speed and danger, while aerial work fills the height of the theater and quieter sequences highlight strength, precision, and trust between performers. Oversized visual icons, including the giant red snail and Big Baby, add to the show’s unmistakable sense of fantasy.

No prior knowledge of Cirque du Soleil is required. Mystère delivers its experience directly through visual spectacle, live music, acrobatics, and humor, making the performance accessible for audiences of many ages and backgrounds.

Show Highlights

Mystère is known for signature Cirque du Soleil acts that combine athletic discipline with imaginative staging and live musical energy.

• Chinese Poles — Performers climb, leap, slide, and transfer between tall vertical poles with remarkable speed and control. The act is one of the show's most dynamic group sequences, showcasing timing, strength, and fearless vertical movement.
• Aerial Acts (Aerial Straps / Bungee) — Aerialists soar above the stage on straps and bungee cords, filling the theater’s height with sweeping flight patterns. These sequences create the sensation of performers floating, diving, and launching through space with precision.
• Hand-to-Hand / Adagio — Duos and ensembles perform controlled lifts, balances, and poses that emphasize strength and trust. The slow pace lets the audience see the muscular control behind each movement, making the act feel both intimate and powerful.
• Korean Plank (Teeterboard) — Acrobats use a seesaw-like plank to launch one another high into the air. Flips, catches, and landings build in rapid succession, creating a crowd-thrilling act with finale-style energy.
• The Giant Red Snail & Big Baby — These oversized surreal props move through the production and interact with performers, giving Mystère some of its most recognizable imagery. They capture the show’s playful spirit and sense of wonder.
• The Clowns — Recurring comedic characters weave through the show, bringing warmth, surprise, and audience interaction between major acrobatic sequences. Their appearances help balance the scale of the spectacle with humor and personality.
• Taiko Drums & Live Score — Thunderous percussion, live vocals, and band-driven music propel the show from one act to the next. The score is a defining part of Mystère’s energy, turning the sound of the production into part of the spectacle.

Cirque du Soleil - Mystere Seating Guide

Cirque du Soleil - Mystere plays in the purpose-built Mystère Theatre inside Treasure Island on the Las Vegas Strip. Because the production uses aerial work, acrobatics, comedy, live music, and large-scale visuals, where you sit shapes how close you feel to the performers and how fully you can take in the staging.

Best Seats for Cirque du Soleil - Mystere

The best seats depend on whether you want close-up performer detail, a broader view of the full stage picture, or the strongest overall balance.

• Best value: Upper mezzanine and rear orchestra sections — these seats can provide a broad view of the stage, rigging, group formations, and large visual moments while often offering strong value compared with closer premium sections.
• Closest to the stage: Front orchestra sections — these seats put you near the performers, costumes, makeup, clowning, and physical detail of the acrobatic work.
• Best overall experience: Mid-orchestra and front mezzanine sections — these areas tend to balance proximity with a full-stage perspective, which works well for a production with aerial acts, group acrobatics, and scenic scale.
• For families with young children: Sections with aisle access can make arrival and exit easier. Mystère runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission, so families should plan restroom and snack needs before the show begins.
• For groups: Coordinate contiguous seats early, since blocks in popular sections can sell through quickly for weekend, holiday, and peak Las Vegas dates.

Getting Ready for Show Night

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation makes the full experience run smoothly from arrival through the final bow.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Cell service around Treasure Island can be congested on busy performance nights. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before heading out so you're ready at the door without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard at most theaters. A portable battery pack is worth having, especially if you're combining the show with dinner or other activities.
• Arrive at least 30 minutes before curtain. Mystère Theatre doors open well before the show begins; arriving early gives you time to find your seats and settle in before the house lights go down — and avoids the disruption of late seating, which many theaters restrict.
• Plan for a 90-minute run with no intermission. Mystère runs straight through, so use the restroom and take care of concessions before the performance begins, especially if you're attending with young children.
• Know the venue's phone and photography policy. Photography and recording are not permitted during the performance, and phones should be silenced before the show starts.
• For families: Mystère is appropriate for most ages, but very young children may find the volume, scale, and sensory intensity overwhelming. Preparing them for loud music, big visuals, and fast-moving performers can help the night go more smoothly.
• Build time into your Las Vegas Strip plan. The Mystère Theatre is inside Treasure Island on a high-traffic tourist corridor, so allow extra time for parking, walking through the resort, and arrival during peak Vegas weekends and holidays.
