This page covers everything you need — from understanding how Helldorado Days Rodeo works to finding the right tickets and knowing what to expect when you arrive.

About Helldorado Days Rodeo

Helldorado Days Rodeo is an annual PRCA and WPRA-sanctioned rodeo held at Core Arena at the Plaza Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The rodeo is part of the broader Helldorado Days celebration—an annual tradition that began in 1935 as an Elks Club fundraiser and grew into a community-wide tribute to Las Vegas’s Old West heritage. Recent editions have been scheduled for November 13 & 14, 2026, bringing rodeo action to a setting that’s steps from the Fremont Street Experience.

On rodeo night, fans can expect a PRCA/WPRA format featuring eight events spanning both roughstock and timed disciplines. The lineup includes Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, Saddle Bronc, Steer Wrestling, Breakaway Roping, along with additional standard rodeo events. Roughstock events are scored by judges based on rider and animal performance, while timed events are decided by the fastest runs—creating a pace that shifts from explosive bursts out of the chutes to razor-close finishes against the clock.

Because it’s PRCA/WPRA-sanctioned, Helldorado Days Rodeo offers competitors prize money and points toward professional standings, while also carrying the pride and heritage tied to one of Las Vegas’s oldest community traditions. Core Arena’s outdoor, downtown location adds to the atmosphere, pairing a family-friendly western festival environment with an urban casino backdrop. If you’re planning to attend Helldorado Days Rodeo, browsing tickets early is the smartest move.

Getting Ready for Helldorado Days Rodeo Rodeo Night

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially for an outdoor Arena setup in Downtown Las Vegas.

• Arrive early. Gates open at 4pm, so give yourself extra time to get parked, get oriented, and settle in before the action starts.
• Rideshare: Rideshare pickup/drop-off is available at the Plaza Hotel & Casino—plan ahead for post-event traffic in the downtown area.
• Parking: On-site parking is available at the Plaza Hotel & Casino, with additional downtown parking nearby.
• Public transit: The Plaza is located near the Fremont Street Experience and is served by RTC bus routes and the Downtown Transit Center, within walking distance of many downtown hotels.
• What to bring: Wear comfortable clothing for an outdoor arena setting, and consider sun protection and layers depending on the weather.
