Whether you’ve followed the Terps for years or you’re planning your first game, Maryland Terrapins Football tickets put you inside the action from the opening drive to the final whistle.

This page covers everything you need — from choosing the right seats at SECU Stadium to knowing what to expect when you arrive on game day.

About Maryland Football

Maryland Terrapins football traces its roots back to 1892 and competes at the NCAA Division I FBS level as a member of the Big Ten Conference (Maryland joined the league on July 1, 2014, after decades in the ACC). The program owns one recognized consensus national title (1953) under head coach Jim Tatum, and has produced standout figures across eras including Randy White, Boomer Esiason, Stefon Diggs, and Vernon Davis.

Maryland plays home games at SECU Stadium in College Park, Maryland, located on the University of Maryland campus in the greater Washington, D.C., metro area. Opened in 1950 (and renamed SECU Stadium in 2022), the stadium holds approximately 51,800 fans and features the Tyser Tower premium/press structure. On game day, the campus setting, active student section, and marching band presence combine for a classic Big Ten atmosphere with a distinctly Maryland look and feel.

In addition to long-running matchups from Maryland’s ACC history—like Virginia—the move to the Big Ten sparked conference rivalries that can drive major demand, including games against Penn State and Rutgers. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing Maryland Terrapins Football tickets early is the smartest move.

If you’re planning a road trip or simply want to compare venues around the conference, you can browse tickets across the Big Ten and choose the experience that fits your season.

College Park Sports Teams

College Park sits in the heart of a deep Mid-Atlantic sports market, making it easy to turn a Maryland football weekend into a full sports trip—whether you’re coming from the D.C. area, traveling in for a marquee Big Ten matchup, or pairing a Saturday game with another event nearby.

How Much Do Maryland Terrapins Football Tickets Cost?

Maryland Terrapins Football tickets typically range from around $40 to $190+ for upper-level and end-zone seats to $190–$190 or more for lower-bowl, club, and premium seats, with suites and hospitality packages running higher.

Several factors can move pricing throughout the season, including opponent strength and name recognition (marquee Big Ten opponents like Ohio State, Michigan, or Penn State), date and day of week, weather, homecoming, overall demand, and bowl/postseason implications.

Maryland Terrapins Football Seating at SECU Stadium

SECU Stadium offers a range of seating experiences for different budgets, group sizes, and game-day goals, from value-friendly end-zone and upper-level sideline options to premium seating in the Tyser Tower structure.

Best Seats for Maryland Terrapins Football Games

The right seat depends on what kind of game day experience you're after:

  • Best value: End-zone and upper-level sideline sections — a strong full-field perspective with an energetic atmosphere at a lower price point
  • Closest to the action: Lower bowl seating around the field — feel the speed and physicality up close
  • Best overall view: Midfield sideline seats near midfield (the 50-yard line) on the lower and club levels — ideal sightlines for watching plays develop across the field
  • For groups and premium experiences: Tyser Tower suites, club seating, and premium indoor/loge options along the west side — added comfort and a more private setting for hosting

If you’re organizing a group outing or targeting a high-demand matchup, it’s smart to lock in seats early so you can keep everyone together.

Getting Ready for Maryland Terrapins Football Game Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially with mobile entry, campus traffic, and pre-kickoff routines around SECU Stadium.

  • Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near SECU Stadium gets congested on game days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
  • Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
  • Arrive early. Gates typically open approximately 90 minutes to two hours before kickoff. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand nights.
  • Public transit. The College Park–University of Maryland Metro station (Green Line) and University of Maryland Shuttle-UM services can help you get to campus and the stadium area efficiently.
  • Rideshare. Use the designated rideshare pickup/drop-off zones near campus on game days, and plan your postgame meetup point in advance.
  • Bag policy. A clear-bag policy is in effect: bags must be clear plastic/vinyl and within standard size limits (typically 12"x6"x12"), with small clutch exceptions; non-compliant bags are prohibited.
  • Cashless payments. Bring a card or mobile payment — SECU Stadium is cashless, and cash-to-card kiosks are available.
  • Parking. On-campus lots around SECU Stadium open several hours before kickoff, with game-day parking available in designated lots.
