About Celebration Bowl

The Celebration Bowl is an annual college football bowl game held in mid-December at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, typically on the Saturday following conference championship weekend. First played in 2015, it’s widely regarded as the de facto national championship of HBCU football — commonly billed as the “Black College Football National Championship” — bringing together the champions of the SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference) and MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

The format is straightforward and high-stakes: it’s a single-game matchup between two teams, with berths earned by winning each conference championship. The winner is recognized as the season’s Black College Football National Champion associated with the bowl and takes home the Celebration Bowl championship trophy, along with the prestige and national exposure that comes with a nationally televised showcase on ABC.

On the field, teams like North Carolina A&T, South Carolina State, Jackson State, North Carolina Central, Grambling State, Alcorn State, and Florida A&M have helped shape the bowl’s modern history. Off the field, the event’s identity is inseparable from its culture — including a celebrated “Battle of the Bands,” halftime performances, and surrounding festivities that draw alumni and fans from across the HBCU community. If you’re planning to attend Celebration Bowl, browsing tickets early is the smartest move.

How Much Do Celebration Bowl Tickets Cost?

Celebration Bowl tickets typically range from around $30 to $75 for general/upper-level seating to $100–$250+ or more for lower-bowl and club seats, with premium packages running higher.

Pricing is most affected by the SWAC and MEAC champions involved, the size and travel strength of each fan base, and seat location relative to midfield. As game day approaches, demand can rise — especially when a marquee program or high-profile coach is part of the storyline. For value, upper levels and end-zone areas are typically the most affordable, while premium inventory near the 50-yard line tends to go first.

No hidden fees. At Box Office Ticket Sales, the price you see is the price you pay. All fees are shown before checkout — no surprise charges when you reach the final step.

• Best overall view: Lower-bowl sideline seating near the 50-yard line — strong sightlines on the field and a balanced view of both sidelines

Getting Ready for Celebration Bowl Game Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially for a high-demand downtown stadium event where entry lines and transit activity can spike close to kickoff.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Cellular service near large events can get congested on game days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
• Arrive early. Gates typically open roughly 1.5–2 hours before kickoff. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand dates.
• Public transit: Mercedes-Benz Stadium is accessible via MARTA rail, with service from stations including GWCC/CNN Center, Vine City, and Dome/GWCC area stations in downtown Atlanta.
• Rideshare: Use the designated rideshare pickup and drop-off zones near the stadium; post-event pickups can take longer when crowds surge.
• Bag policy: A clear-bag policy is in effect — clear plastic bags up to 12" x 6" x 12" or a small clutch; non-clear bags are prohibited.
• Payment/cashless: The venue is fully cashless. Credit/debit and mobile payments are accepted, with cash-to-card conversion kiosks available.
• What to bring: Your mobile ticket and ID, a permitted clear bag, and your HBCU team gear. Dress comfortably — the stadium is climate-controlled with a retractable roof.
