Show Information

Criss Angel: Mindfreak is an original magic and illusion stage spectacle created around illusionist Criss Angel and his “Mindfreak” brand. The Las Vegas production launched in 2018 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino as “Mindfreak LIVE!,” while the broader Mindfreak brand began with Angel’s A&E television series, which debuted in 2005. Angel serves as the production’s creator, star, and principal illusion designer.

The show is a Las Vegas residency staged at the Criss Angel Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. It runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission, presenting a sequence of grand-scale illusions, levitations, escapes, close-up magic, and interactive feats with elaborate staging, lighting, sound, and specially engineered illusion apparatus.

Criss Angel has received multiple honors from the magic community, including Magician of the Year recognition and Magician of the Decade honors from the Academy of Magical Arts. His combined Las Vegas residencies span well over a decade of Strip performances, including the earlier Cirque du Soleil collaboration “Criss Angel Believe” at Luxor, which ran from 2008 to 2016 before the Mindfreak production relaunched at Planet Hollywood.

Show Highlights

Criss Angel: Mindfreak is known for signature segments that combine stagecraft, suspense, and audience involvement:

• Grand-Scale Illusions — These showpiece moments use elaborate apparatus, lighting, sound, and stage machinery to create large vanishes and transformations. They are designed as some of the production’s biggest visual statements, giving the show its Las Vegas spectacle scale.
• Levitations — Floating and defying-gravity illusions are central to Criss Angel’s reputation and Mindfreak brand. These segments bring the focus to the impossible-looking image of a body suspended in space, with the theatrical staging heightening the effect.
• Escapes and High-Stakes Stunts — Danger-driven sequences add tension and momentum to the evening. These moments use simulated peril and escape-style staging to create climactic pressure as the show builds toward its most intense beats.
• Audience Interaction — Spectator involvement brings unpredictability into the performance. These segments create a more intimate connection between Angel, the audience, and the illusion, making each performance feel immediate and live.
• Close-Up Magic — Sleight-of-hand and up-close illusions provide contrast to the larger production numbers. These moments give the show a more personal texture before returning to bigger stage effects and large-scale spectacle.

Criss Angel: Mindfreak Seating Guide

Criss Angel: Mindfreak plays in the dedicated Criss Angel Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Where you sit shapes how close you feel to the illusions, audience interaction, stage effects, and high-energy production design.

Best Seats for Criss Angel: Mindfreak

The best seats depend on whether you want the closest possible view of the magic or a wider perspective on the full stage picture.

• Best value: Rear orchestra, mezzanine, and balcony sections — these seats can provide a strong overall view of the staging, lighting, and large-scale illusions while often offering better value than the closest sections.
• Closest to the stage: Front orchestra sections — ideal if you want maximum proximity to Criss Angel, the close-up moments, and the intensity of the onstage effects.
• Best overall experience: Mid-orchestra and front mezzanine sections — these areas often balance proximity with a clear view of the full stage, making them appealing for fans who want both detail and spectacle.
• For families with young children: Choose sections with aisle access when possible, and keep the approximately 90-minute runtime with no intermission in mind. The show includes simulated danger and intensity, making it generally better suited for older children, teens, and adults.
• For groups: Coordinate contiguous seats early, since blocks in popular sections can sell through quickly for weekend and peak Las Vegas performances.

Getting Ready for Show Night

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation makes the full experience run smoothly from arrival through the final bow.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Cell service around Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino can be congested on busy performance nights. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before heading out so you're ready at the door without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard at most theaters. A portable battery pack is worth having, especially if you're combining the show with dinner or other activities.
• Arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime. Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino doors open well before the show begins; arriving early gives you time to find your seats and settle in before the house lights go down — and avoids the disruption of late seating, which many theaters restrict.
• Plan for a 90-minute run with no intermission. Criss Angel: Mindfreak runs approximately 90 minutes without an act break, so plan restroom, concessions, and arrival timing before the show begins.
• Know the venue's phone and photography policy. Professional recording and flash photography during the performance are generally prohibited, and most professional productions ask audiences to silence phones during the show.
• For families: The production includes illusions involving simulated danger and intensity, so it is generally recommended for older children, teens, and adults rather than very young children.
• Build time into your Las Vegas Strip plan. The show is staged in a dedicated theater on the Las Vegas Strip, a high-traffic tourist destination where peak seasons and weekends draw heavy crowds.
