About Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC bring professional soccer to the Pikes Peak region as an independent club in the USL Championship, the second tier of the U.S. soccer system below MLS. Founded in 2014 (and beginning play in 2015), the Switchbacks have built a loyal regional following and emerged as one of the Western Conference’s stronger sides in the early 2020s, highlighted by a run to the USL Championship Final in 2024—the first final appearance in club history—after topping the Western Conference standings during the regular season.

Switchbacks FC play their home matches at Weidner Field, a purpose-built, soccer-specific stadium in downtown Colorado Springs that opened in 2021. With an approximate capacity of 8,000, the venue is known for an intimate, close-to-the-action layout that keeps fans near the pitch and amplifies the sound from the supporters’ section.

In the USL Championship Western Conference, matchups can draw extra attention when standings points, playoff implications, and promotional nights raise the stakes. If you already have a date circled on the calendar, browsing Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC tickets early is a smart way to get the seat location and price point you want before inventory tightens.

Best Seats for Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC Games

The right seat depends on what kind of match day experience you're after:

  • Best value: End-line and goal-end general seating — a fun, energetic view at a lower price point
  • Closest to the action: Sideline seating — stay near the flow of play and feel the pace up close
  • Best overall view: Center sideline sections at midfield — excellent sightlines to follow spacing and build-up across the pitch

Getting Ready for Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC Match Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially in a downtown venue where entry timing, parking, and post-match rideshare plans can shape your whole night.

  • Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Weidner Field gets congested on match days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
  • Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
  • Arrive early. Gates typically open approximately one hour before the opening whistle; give yourself extra time for entry and security on higher-demand matches.
  • Public transit. Weidner Field is served by Mountain Metropolitan Transit routes in downtown Colorado Springs, and the stadium’s central location is walkable from much of downtown.
  • Parking plan. Public parking garages and surface lots in downtown Colorado Springs serve the venue, and there isn’t a large dedicated on-site lot.
  • Rideshare. Rideshare drop-off and pickup are available at designated downtown curbside zones near the stadium—have a post-match plan so you’re not scrambling when the crowd clears out.
  • Bag policy. Weidner Field uses a clear-bag policy; small clutch bags are permitted, while larger non-clear bags are prohibited.
  • Cashless payments. Bring a card or mobile payment—Weidner Field is cashless at concessions and points of sale.
