Whether you’ve followed the club since its debut or you’re planning your first match, Birmingham Legion FC tickets put you inside the match day atmosphere in the heart of the BJCC district.

This page covers everything you need — from choosing the right seats at Protective Stadium to knowing what to expect when you arrive on match day.

About Birmingham Legion FC

Birmingham Legion FC bring affordable, family-friendly soccer to Birmingham, Alabama as an independent club in the USL Championship. Founded in 2018 and beginning play in 2019, Legion FC competes in the league’s Eastern Conference, giving fans in the U.S. Southeast a consistent, high-level professional match day experience. Notable names connected to the club’s on-field identity include Ronaldo Damus, Phanuel Kavita, Enzo Martinez, and defenders Bryce Washington, Hamady Diop, and Amir Daley.

Birmingham plays home matches at Protective Stadium, a modern downtown multi-purpose venue that opened in 2021 and sits within the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) district. With an approximate capacity of 47,100 (configured smaller for soccer matches), Protective Stadium delivers a big-event feel while keeping supporters close to the pitch, especially in the lower seating areas along the sidelines and behind the goals.

On match day, the energy is anchored by The Magic City Brigade behind one goal, bringing organized support that matches the club’s black-and-gold identity—branding inspired by Birmingham’s industrial heritage and the city’s iconic Vulcan statue. For popular opponents, promotional nights, and matches with playoff implications, browsing Birmingham Legion FC tickets early is the smartest move.

Best Seats for Birmingham Legion FC Games

The right seat depends on what kind of match day experience you're after:

  • Best value: Upper-level areas in the larger configuration and behind-goal/end sections — a more affordable way to take in the full match with plenty of crowd energy
  • Closest to the action: Lower-bowl seating along the sidelines and behind the goals — ideal if you want to feel every sprint, tackle, and shot up close
  • Best overall view: Midfield lower-bowl sideline sections near midfield — strong sightlines as plays develop across the pitch

Getting Ready for Birmingham Legion FC Match Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially with a downtown venue where entry lines and nearby traffic patterns can pick up close to kickoff.

  • Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Protective Stadium gets congested on match days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
  • Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
  • Arrive early. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand nights.
  • Public Transit: Protective Stadium is in downtown Birmingham near the BJCC and is served by local MAX/Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority bus routes. Use public transit if you can — it’s often faster than driving on match day.
  • Rideshare: Designated rideshare pickup/drop-off zones are available in the downtown BJCC area. Plan your rideshare pickup point — post-match pickups near the stadium can take longer than expected.
  • Bag Policy: A clear-bag policy is in effect at Protective Stadium, with permitted clear plastic bags and small clutch bags only; larger bags and backpacks are prohibited. Check your bag before you go so entry is smooth.
  • Payment/Cashless: Bring a card or mobile payment — Protective Stadium is cashless, with credit/debit and mobile payments accepted at concessions and points of sale.
  • Parking: BJCC and downtown lots and decks surround the stadium, with event-day parking available in the complex.
