About Stetson Hatters Football

Stetson Hatters Football represents Stetson University in NCAA Division I FCS competition, playing in the Pioneer Football League (PFL), a non-scholarship FCS conference. The program was originally established in 1901, discontinued after the 1956 season, and then reinstated in 2013 to begin its modern Division I FCS era.

A key figure in the modern program’s return is Roger Hughes, the head coach who launched the reinstated program in 2013 and guided its early development. Today, the Hatters continue building year over year within the PFL.

On Saturdays in DeLand, the Hatters play at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium, a city-owned stadium with an approximately 6,000-person capacity. Located in downtown DeLand, it delivers a community-oriented setting and a family-friendly college football environment where the action feels close from nearly every seat.

Within the Pioneer Football League, Stetson’s matchups are driven primarily by conference play, with regional interest in games against fellow Florida and Southeast-area PFL opponents such as the Jacksonville Dolphins. If there’s a specific conference matchup you’re targeting, browsing Stetson Hatters Football tickets early is the smartest move.
