About the Tacoma Defiance

The Tacoma Defiance bring affordable, family-friendly soccer to the region as a key part of MLS Next Pro. Founded in 2014 as Seattle Sounders FC 2 and rebranded as Tacoma Defiance in 2019, the club competes in the Western Conference and serves as the official reserve and developmental affiliate of Seattle Sounders FC.

Defiance matches are a true proving ground: the roster is built around young academy prospects, Sounders reserves, and developmental signings, with a strong emphasis on giving players professional minutes and helping them progress through the Sounders pipeline. Under head coach Wade Webber, the club’s identity centers on youth development and integration of Sounders Academy products.

Home matches are played at Starfire Stadium (Starfire Sports Complex) in Tukwila, Washington. Opened in 2008 with an approximate capacity of 4,500, Starfire is a soccer-specific venue known for close sightlines to the pitch and a relaxed, community-oriented environment. For fans who love being near the action and tracking emerging players, browsing Tacoma Defiance tickets early is the smartest move.

Best Seats for Tacoma Defiance Games

The right seat depends on what kind of match day experience you're after:

  • Best value: General admission endline and corner seating areas — a budget-friendly way to take in the full match with plenty of energy nearby
  • Closest to the action: Single-level sideline and endline seating close to the pitch — you’ll feel the pace up close
  • Best overall view: Center sideline seats at midfield — strong sightlines as sequences develop across the pitch
  • For groups and premium experiences: Sideline seating together in the single-level bowl — a simple way to keep your group connected in one area

Getting Ready for Tacoma Defiance Match Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially in an intimate venue where arriving early helps you settle in and enjoy the full match-day experience.

  • Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Starfire Stadium gets congested on match days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
