About Anaina Hou Community Park

Anaina Hou Community Park is a multi-purpose community venue located at 5-2723 Kuhio Hwy in Kilauea, Hawaii. Operated by Anaina Hou, a community nonprofit organization, it serves as a North Shore gathering place with open grounds, performance and event space, recreation, and food options on the same campus. The park sits on the mauka side of Kuhio Highway, placing it along one of Kauai's main travel routes through the Kilauea area.

The campus is known for hosting live music and concerts, community and cultural events, family activities, farmers-market-style gatherings, and other ticketed and free programming. In addition to its event calendar, Anaina Hou offers Kauai Mini Golf, an 18-hole putting-green-style course set within a lush Hawaiian botanical garden, along with casual dining and free daily admission to the grounds.

Anaina Hou Community Park is a central community gathering place and performance destination on Kauai's North Shore, with a relaxed setting that supports both planned events and everyday visits.

Location & Transportation

Anaina Hou Community Park is located at 5-2723 Kuhio Hwy, Kilauea, HI 96754 — on the mauka side of Kuhio Highway in Kilauea on Kauai's North Shore.

Driving and Parking: Access is primarily by car along Kuhio Highway, also known as Route 56. The campus has on-site parking, and Kuhio Highway is the main artery for reaching Kilauea from other parts of the island. Allow extra travel time if you are coming from Lihue, Princeville, or Hanalei, especially when North Shore traffic is moving slowly.

Transit: Kauai has very limited public transit, and while the Kauai Bus serves the island, this North Shore location is overwhelmingly a drive-to destination. If you are planning around the bus, build in extra time and review the route timing before the day of the event.

Rideshare: Rideshare and taxi availability on Kauai is more limited than in many mainland markets, particularly on the North Shore. For evening events, arranging return transportation in advance can make departure smoother after the show or event.

Nearby Accommodation: Lodging options are concentrated in Princeville and Hanalei to the north and in Kapaa and Lihue to the south. Kilauea also has vacation rentals and smaller inns for visitors who want to stay closer to the park.

Venue Navigation

Anaina Hou Community Park is an open community campus with outdoor grounds, garden paths, recreation, dining, and event space in one setting. Understanding the park-style layout before arrival helps with parking, walking the grounds, and getting settled before the event begins.

Entrances and Access: Main access is from Kuhio Highway on the mauka side. The grounds are open daily with free admission, and guests enter the campus from the highway-side access point before moving into the park's event, dining, garden, and recreation areas.

Dining Options

Inside Anaina Hou Community Park

Casual dining is available on the Anaina Hou campus, making it convenient to eat onsite before or around an event. Because the venue is a community park setting with recreation and programming on the same grounds, dining can be part of the overall visit rather than a separate stop.

Outside the Venue — Kilauea and Kauai's North Shore

The town of Kilauea offers nearby dining, including well-known local spots in the Kilauea area. Additional options are available in Princeville and Hanalei to the north and Kapaa to the south, giving visitors flexibility whether they are coming from a North Shore stay or driving up from another part of Kauai.

Security & Policies

Anaina Hou Community Park maintains security and venue policies that are updated regularly and may vary by event. Before attending, reviewing the current policy on the venue's official website is strongly recommended.

How Much Do Tickets to Anaina Hou Community Park Cost?

Anaina Hou Community Park ticket prices vary based on the event, seat location, and demand. Premium and lower-level seats are in high demand, while upper-level sections offer strong value.

Pricing varies by the specific performer or event. Many community events at Anaina Hou Community Park are offered free of charge, while ticketed concerts and special events are priced individually.

For ticketed concerts and special events, buying earlier generally secures better availability. As inventory shrinks and the event date approaches, the best remaining options can become harder to find.

Getting Ready for Your Anaina Hou Community Park Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical preparations make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at an outdoor North Shore venue like this.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Cell service on Kauai's North Shore can be inconsistent in rural areas. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before departing so you're ready at the entrance without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having for a full evening.
• Arrive early. Access is by car along Kuhio Highway, so allow extra time for North Shore driving and parking before the event.
• Wear the right footwear. The campus is an outdoor park setting with grounds and garden paths, so comfortable footwear suited to grass and outdoor surfaces is advisable.
• Dress in layers. As an outdoor North Shore location, conditions can include sun, wind, and passing rain showers. Bring sun protection and a light layer or rain-ready item.
• Build extra time into your transit plan. Travel to the park runs along Kuhio Highway, and extra time helps account for North Shore driving conditions before arrival.
• Check the bag policy in advance. Reviewing the venue's guidelines before packing prevents delays at security.
