This page covers everything you need — from choosing the right seats at City Stadium to knowing what to expect when you arrive on match day.

About Richmond Kickers SC

Richmond Kickers SC bring affordable, family-friendly soccer to Richmond, Virginia, as members of USL League One. Founded in 1993, the club is one of the oldest continuously operating soccer franchises in the United States, and it has built a reputation for deep community roots and a strong local soccer culture. On the field, the Kickers captured the USL League One regular-season title and playoff championship in 2022, a statement season that reinforced the team’s place among the league’s top contenders.

The club’s home is City Stadium, a historic venue in Richmond that opened in 1929. With an approximate capacity of 22,000 (typically used in a reduced configuration for matches), City Stadium delivers an intimate, soccer-focused environment with supporters’ sections close to the pitch. Match day energy is driven by the Kickers’ dedicated supporters’ group, the Red Army, known for vocal backing with drums and chants throughout the match.

As a League One side, Richmond also plays an important role in player development, providing younger and emerging players meaningful professional minutes and a pathway toward higher levels. If you’re planning a featured match—especially one with playoff implications or a special occasion—browsing Richmond Kickers SC tickets early is the smartest move.

Getting Ready for Richmond Kickers SC Match Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially at a historic stadium where nearby parking and entry flow can shape your pre-match routine.

  • Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near City Stadium gets congested on match days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
  • Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.

  • Parking: On-site and nearby street/lot parking is available around City Stadium.
  • Check the bag policy before you go so there are no surprises at the entrance.
  • Use public transit if you can — it's often faster than driving on match day.
  • Plan your rideshare pickup point — post-game pickups near City Stadium can take longer than expected.
