About North Carolina Central Football

North Carolina Central Eagles football competes in NCAA Division I FCS as a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). The program carries a distinguished HBCU football tradition and has been a consistent MEAC contender in the Division I era, highlighted by multiple MEAC championship seasons in the 2010s and a Celebration Bowl championship following the 2022 season. Influential figures connected to the program include legendary head coach Herman Riddick, MEAC-title-winning coach Jerry Mack, and current head coach Trei Oliver, a former NCCU player who guided the Eagles to that Celebration Bowl title.

NCCU plays home games at O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium in Durham, North Carolina. Opened in 1975 with a capacity of approximately 10,000, it’s an on-campus setting that keeps fans close to the field and amplifies the sound and energy of a packed crowd. The stadium is named in honor of former NCCU leaders, including Herman Riddick, and it serves as the heart of the Eagles’ game-day experience.

Within the MEAC, rivalry and conference matchups can drive major demand — especially the historic showdown with the North Carolina A&T Aggies in the long-running Aggie-Eagle Classic. Other key rivals include Howard, South Carolina State, and traditional in-state foe Winston-Salem State. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing North Carolina Central Eagles Football tickets early is the smartest move.

• Closest to the action: Sideline grandstand seating — stay near the field and feel the speed and physicality of FCS football up close
• Best overall view: Sideline seats near midfield (the 50-yard line) — strong sightlines for seeing plays develop across the field
• For groups and premium experiences: Look for group-friendly section blocks that keep everyone together and make it easy to plan a shared game-day experience

Getting Ready for North Carolina Central Eagles Football Game Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially with an on-campus stadium setup where arrival timing and entry lines can shape your pregame experience.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium gets congested on game days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
• Arrive early. Gates typically open approximately 60–90 minutes before kickoff. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand game days.
• Public Transit: GoDurham and GoTriangle transit serve the Durham area, and campus is accessible from central Durham. Use public transit if you can — it’s often faster than driving on game day.
• Rideshare: Rideshare drop-off and pickup are available near the campus stadium entrances. Plan your rideshare pickup point — post-game pickups near the stadium can take longer than expected.
• Check the bag policy before you go so there are no surprises at the entrance.
• Parking: On-campus and nearby lots are available on game day; arrive early for closest access.
