About York United FC

York United FC is a founding club of the Canadian Premier League (CPL), launching with the league in 2019 after being founded in 2018. The club originally played as York9 FC before rebranding to York United FC ahead of the 2021 season, leaning into a green-and-white identity and the “Nine Stripes” nickname—still a nod to York Region’s nine municipalities. York United has also competed in the Canadian Championship, Canada’s national cup competition that includes clubs from the CPL, MLS, and League1.

At home, York United plays at York Lions Stadium on York University’s Keele Campus in Toronto. Opened in 2015 and used for the 2015 Pan American Games, the stadium holds approximately 4,000 fans (and can expand for larger fixtures). The venue’s compact design creates a close-to-the-action feel, with supporters near the pitch driving a community-focused match-day atmosphere.

In the CPL, matchups against Forge FC bring a geographic and competitive edge as a fellow founding Ontario club. York United’s Canadian Championship games—especially local dates against Toronto FC—also carry added significance in the Greater Toronto Area. If there’s a specific rivalry match you’re targeting, browsing York United FC tickets early is the smartest move.

Best Seats for York United FC Games

The right seat depends on what kind of match day experience you're after:

• Best value: End and corner sections — a lower price point with an energetic feel in a compact stadium setting
• Closest to the action: Sideline seating along the single-tier bowl — a near-pitch view that keeps you connected to the pace of play
• Best overall view: Central sideline sections at midfield — strong sightlines to follow build-up, spacing, and transitions across the pitch
• For groups and premium experiences: Focus on buying together in the same sideline area — in a smaller stadium, locking in adjacent seats early is key for groups

If you’re organizing a group outing for a high-demand date—especially rivalry and Canadian Championship fixtures—try to buy early so you can keep your party together.
