About Valparaiso Football

Valparaiso football competes at the NCAA Division I FCS level as a member of the Pioneer Football League (PFL), a non-scholarship conference established in 1993. Football has been played at Valparaiso since the early 1900s, giving the program a long-running place in the university’s athletic tradition. In 2021, Valparaiso updated its athletic nickname from the “Crusaders” to the “Beacons,” reflecting the modern identity of Valpo athletics.

Home games are played at Brown Field in Valparaiso, Indiana, an on-campus outdoor stadium with an approximate capacity of 5,000. The smaller setting creates an intimate, community-centered environment where you can follow the action on the field without feeling far removed from the game.
