About Stonehill Basketball

Stonehill Skyhawks basketball represents Stonehill College in NCAA Division I as a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC). The program made the move from NCAA Division II—where it competed in the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10), one of the premier Division II conferences in the Northeast—to Division I beginning in 2022, marking a new era of competition and growth for the Skyhawks.

Before the Division I transition, Stonehill built a strong profile in the NE-10, including a Northeast-10 Conference Tournament title and NCAA Division II Tournament appearances. With the move to the NEC, Stonehill is establishing its Division I identity while navigating the multi-year transition period.

With an approximate capacity of 1,800, Merkert creates an intimate college basketball atmosphere—great sightlines, a tight connection to the court, and a game-day feel that stays loud and engaged throughout the matchup.
