About Oklahoma Baptist Bison Football

Oklahoma Baptist Bison Football is the NCAA Division II football program of Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU) in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The Bison compete in the Great American Conference (GAC), representing OBU in Green and Gold as the program continues to grow in the modern era.

OBU football has roots that date back to the early 20th century, with the original program discontinued in 1940. The university reinstated football in 2013, and the modern Bison program began competing as a Great American Conference member at the Division II level.

Today’s Bison are led by head coach Chris Jensen, with notable current players including Drew Denton (quarterback), Buddy Bizzell (running back), Gabe Barres (wide receiver), and Bryce Burke (tight end). In the GAC, many of the most anticipated matchups come against regional opponents, including Southern Nazarene, East Central, and Southeastern Oklahoma State—and if you’re targeting one of those high-interest dates, browsing Oklahoma Baptist Bison Football tickets early is a smart move.
