About Northern Kentucky Volleyball

Northern Kentucky University competes in NCAA Division I women’s volleyball as a member of the Horizon League. The Norse have built a strong conference profile since NKU’s Division I transition in 2012 (and Horizon League membership beginning in 2015), highlighted by a 2019 Horizon League Tournament championship and a 2025 Horizon League Regular Season title.

The 2019 championship squad delivered a breakthrough moment for the program, earning NKU’s first NCAA Division I Tournament appearance via the Horizon League’s automatic bid. In recent seasons, Norse student-athletes have continued to collect All-Horizon League honors as the program has stayed in the mix for the top of the standings.

Home matches are played at BB&T Arena on NKU’s campus in Highland Heights, Kentucky. Opened in 2008, the arena is the hub for NKU athletics and creates a close-to-the-court feel for volleyball in a reduced seating configuration. With Victor E. Viking energizing the crowd and a dedicated student section, match day has a distinctly campus-driven intensity.

Northern Kentucky Norse Seating at BB&T Arena

BB&T Arena offers a range of seating experiences for different budgets, group sizes, and match-day goals, with volleyball set up in a scaled-down configuration that keeps the action feeling close.

Best Seats for Northern Kentucky Norse Games

The right seat depends on what kind of match day experience you're after:

• Best value: Upper rows and end sections farthest from the court — elevated views, plenty of atmosphere, and a lower price point
• Closest to the action: Courtside seating nearest the action — feel every rally and quick transition up close
• Best overall view: Center-court sideline seats near center court (midcourt, near the net) — strong sightlines as points develop across the court
• For groups and premium experiences: Courtside and sideline seating nearest the action — a great fit when you’re planning a bigger match-day outing

If you’re organizing a group for a high-demand conference matchup, it’s smart to lock in seats early so everyone can sit together.

• Parking: On-campus lots and parking garages are available near the arena for event attendees.
• Rideshare: Use designated drop-off/pickup areas on campus near the arena.
• Bag Policy: NKU athletics follows a clear-bag/limited-bag policy consistent with university venue standards; small clutch bags are typically permitted.
