Whether you’ve followed the Bears for years or you’re planning your first game, Lenoir-Rhyne Bears Football tickets put you inside the tradition of one of the Carolinas’ most accomplished small-college programs.

This page covers everything you need — from choosing the right seats at Moretz Stadium to knowing what to expect when you arrive on game day.

About Lenoir-Rhyne Bears Football

Lenoir-Rhyne football has a deep small-college tradition that dates back to 1907, and today the Bears compete in NCAA Division II as a member of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC). A defining moment in program history is the 1960 NAIA National Championship, a landmark achievement that still anchors the identity of Lenoir-Rhyne Bears Football. The Bears’ history also includes frequent appearances in the NCAA Division II playoffs, and the program’s championship and playoff teams across eras remain central to what it means to wear Cardinal and Black.

The Bears’ legacy includes influential figures like Clarence Stasavich, the legendary coach associated with Lenoir-Rhyne’s championship era, and Mike Houston, who served as head coach from 2011–2013 and guided the Bears to a national semifinal appearance (2013). Over the decades, the program has also sent players to professional football, contributing alumni to the NFL and other leagues.

On Saturdays in Hickory, Lenoir-Rhyne plays at Moretz Stadium, an on-campus venue known for its intimate, close-to-the-field feel that’s typical of Division II football. With a capacity of approximately 6,500, it delivers a tight-knit, community-driven atmosphere with strong alumni and local turnout — especially when a rivalry matchup is on the schedule.

The Bears’ conference slate in the South Atlantic Conference fuels some of the program’s biggest-ticket games. The most historic and heated rivalry is Catawba College, a long-standing matchup between nearby North Carolina schools (Hickory and Salisbury) and one of the oldest, most storied rivalries in Division II and NAIA play. Conference showdowns with Carson-Newman, Mars Hill, and Wingate can also carry major stakes in the standings. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing Lenoir-Rhyne Bears Football tickets early is the smartest move.
