About Jacksonville Dolphins Basketball

Jacksonville Dolphins men’s basketball competes at the NCAA Division I level in the ASUN Conference (Atlantic Sun), which the program joined in 1998. The Dolphins’ proudest milestone came in 1969–70, when Jacksonville reached the NCAA National Championship game, finishing as national runner-up to UCLA. That Cinderella run—powered by a front line led by Artis Gilmore and Pembrook Burrows III—remains a defining part of the program’s identity. Other notable names tied to Dolphins basketball include Rex Morgan, head coach Joe Williams, Otis Smith, and Dee Brown.

Home games are played at Swisher Gymnasium on the Jacksonville University campus in Jacksonville, Florida. Opened in 1953, Swisher is a historic home court with an approximate capacity of 1,500. The setting is tight-knit and intense—exactly the kind of environment where crowd noise carries and every possession feels close.

Within ASUN play, matchups against Florida Gulf Coast, Stetson, and the North Florida Ospreys can drive extra attention, especially with the local “city series” angle against UNF. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing Jacksonville Dolphins Basketball tickets early is the smartest move.

• Plan parking on campus. On-campus parking is available near the athletics facilities—build in a few extra minutes for walking to the arena.
• Rideshare: Rideshare drop-off and pickup are available at campus entrances near the venue. Have a pickup plan for after the game so your group reconnects quickly.
