About the Grand Junction River Hawks

The Grand Junction River Hawks bring junior hockey to Grand Junction, Colorado as a 2024 expansion franchise in the North American Hockey League (NAHL). As part of USA Hockey–sanctioned Tier II junior hockey, the River Hawks compete in a league known for developing junior-age players (typically 16–20) and helping them advance to NCAA college hockey and higher levels.

The River Hawks play home games at River City Sportplex in Grand Junction, Colorado, located at 2515 Riverside Pkwy. It’s a local home base built for fans who want to be close to the ice and experience the pace, physicality, and momentum swings that make live hockey so compelling.

One of the biggest draws of NAHL hockey is the development pipeline: the league is a pathway to NCAA commitments and advancement to higher levels, including Tier I junior (USHL) and, ultimately, professional and collegiate ranks. For popular dates and high-demand matchups, browsing Grand Junction River Hawks tickets early is the smartest move.

Getting Ready for Grand Junction River Hawks Game Night

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially when you’re planning your arrival and entry for a busy game night.

  • Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near River City Sportplex gets congested on game nights. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
  • Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
  • Arrive early. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand nights.
  • Parking: On-site parking is available at the River City Sportplex complex.
  • Check the bag policy before you go so there are no surprises at the entrance.
  • Plan your rideshare pickup point — post-game pickups near River City Sportplex can take longer than expected.
  • Use public transit if you can — it's often faster than driving on game nights.
