About the Frederick Keys

The Frederick Keys bring affordable, family-friendly baseball to Frederick, Maryland. Founded in 1989, the Keys compete in the MLB Draft League, a summer league designed to showcase draft-eligible college players and prospects in front of pro scouts. It’s a format that keeps professional-caliber baseball in the community while giving fans a chance to see emerging talent in a high-energy setting.

Home games are played at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium, an intimate ballpark that opened in 1990 and holds approximately 5,400 fans. The venue is known for its open concourse with views of the surrounding countryside, plus a relaxed atmosphere that fits perfectly with a summer game night. Expect an approachable, community-first environment built around baseball, family fun, and an easy in-and-out game experience.

Keys games also lean into local identity and entertainment. The club’s patriotic branding nods to Francis Scott Key (a Frederick resident and author of “The Star-Spangled Banner”), and Keyote is a familiar fixture at home dates. Promotional nights, fireworks, giveaways, and between-inning activities can make certain games especially popular, so browsing Frederick Keys tickets early is the smartest move.
