About Carson-Newman Football

Carson-Newman football is one of the most storied programs in NCAA Division II history, known for sustained success and a championship legacy that still shapes game day in Jefferson City. The Eagles compete in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) and have captured five NAIA National Championships (1983, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1989) during a dominant 1980s era. The program’s identity is closely tied to legendary head coach Ken Sparks (1980–2016), who built Carson-Newman into a national power and earned a place among the all-time winningest coaches in college football history.

Home games are played at Burke-Tarr Stadium in Jefferson City, Tennessee, an on-campus venue with an intimate feel and a passionate mix of students, alumni, and local fans.
