About Sames Auto Arena

Sames Auto Arena opened in 2002 as the Laredo Entertainment Center, later operated under the Laredo Energy Arena name before becoming Sames Auto Arena through a naming-rights agreement. The arena is owned by the City of Laredo and operated by a third-party venue management company in the ASM Global / SMG lineage. Its capacity changes by setup, with roughly 8,000 seats for hockey and arena football configurations and up to about 10,000 for concerts and center-stage events.

Located at 6700 Arena Blvd. in north Laredo, the venue is a modern indoor arena built for flexibility. Its event calendar can include touring concerts across multiple genres, comedy shows, family productions such as ice shows and circuses, motorsports, professional and amateur sports, boxing and MMA, graduations, and community gatherings.

Sames Auto Arena is known as the main indoor destination for large touring events in Laredo and the surrounding South Texas border region.

Location & Transportation

Sames Auto Arena is located at 6700 Arena Blvd., Laredo, TX 78041 — in north Laredo near the I-35 corridor.

Driving and Parking: Most attendees arrive by car. The arena sits off Arena Boulevard with convenient access from Interstate 35, and on-site surface parking is available around the building. For major concerts, family shows, and sporting events, arriving early helps with both parking and entry flow as lots and entrances get busier close to showtime.

Transit: El Metro provides local bus service within Laredo, though transit options to the arena area are limited. For many events, driving, rideshare, or staying nearby along the I-35 corridor will be the most practical option.

Rideshare: Uber and Lyft operate in Laredo, with drop-off and pickup handled in the arena’s surface lots. After high-attendance events, expect some waiting time as vehicles and pedestrian traffic clear the parking areas.

Nearby Accommodation: Hotels are clustered along the I-35 corridor and near Mall del Norte in north Laredo, giving out-of-town guests convenient lodging options close to the arena.

Venue Navigation

Sames Auto Arena uses a standard single-bowl arena layout, so understanding the concourse, seating levels, and parking-lot access points before arrival can make it easier to get from your car to your section.

Entrances and Access: Main entrances lead from the surrounding surface parking lots into the arena concourse. Because the building is surrounded by parking, the best approach is typically to park, walk toward the main entrance area, and follow staff direction into the concourse.

Concourse Levels: Seating is organized around the central bowl with lower-level seating, an upper seating area, and a premium suite level. Concerts and center-stage events can add floor seating, while sports events are arranged around the playing surface.

Accessibility: ADA-accessible seating and parking are available consistent with modern arena standards.

Getting to Your Section: Concourse signage and event staff help direct guests to seating sections around the bowl. Knowing your section in advance can help you choose the most efficient concourse entry from the parking lots.

Dining Options

Inside Sames Auto Arena

Sames Auto Arena offers standard arena concessions, including snacks, hot food, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages. Premium and suite areas can include catering options for guests with access to those spaces. Lines can build near showtime and during breaks, so getting food or drinks shortly after entry can help you avoid the busiest windows.

Outside the Venue — North Laredo

Dining near Sames Auto Arena is concentrated along the I-35 corridor and around the Mall del Norte / north Laredo retail area. That surrounding district gives fans a practical place to plan a meal before heading to the arena or to meet up after an event.

Security & Policies

Sames Auto Arena maintains security and venue policies that are updated regularly and may vary by event. Before attending, reviewing the current policy on the venue's official website is strongly recommended.

Bag Policy: Bag restrictions and size limits typically apply. Clear-bag or limited-bag policies are common and can vary by event, so packing light is the safest approach.

Commonly Prohibited Items: Weapons, outside food and drink, and professional cameras are commonly restricted. Other items that create a safety concern can also be restricted at entry.

Re-Entry: Re-entry is typically not permitted once a guest exits. Event-specific re-entry rules are shown on the event listing.

Entry Procedures: Guests should expect bag checks, metal detection screening, and digital ticket verification at entry. Arriving with a compliant bag and pre-downloaded tickets helps speed up the process at the arena entrance.

How Much Do Tickets to Sames Auto Arena Cost?

Sames Auto Arena ticket prices vary widely depending on the type of event, the artist or team, seating section, and demand — which is what you'd expect from a venue that hosts everything from family shows and comedy to high-demand touring concerts and combat sports.

For regional and touring concerts, tickets are commonly around $40–$150+, with high-demand headliners running higher. Floor seats, lower-bowl seats near the stage, and premium areas typically draw the strongest demand for major artists.

Family shows and comedy events are often priced around $25–$80. Seat location, performance time, and overall demand can affect the final price, with lower-level seats generally costing more than upper-level options.

Sports, boxing, and MMA events can run approximately $20–$75, with prices changing based on the matchup, card, seat location, and event demand. Seats closer to the playing surface, ring, or cage usually price above upper-level sections.

Buying earlier generally yields better seat selection and pricing for popular events. As inventory shrinks and the event date approaches, prices for the best remaining sections can rise, especially for concerts, major family shows, and in-demand sports events.

Sames Auto Arena offers a flexible single-bowl seating layout, with lower-bowl sections, upper-level seating, suite and premium areas, and event-specific floor configurations for concerts and center-stage events. The best seats depend on whether you want the closest possible view, the best overall balance, or the strongest value.

Best Seats at Sames Auto Arena

• Best value: Upper-level sections are typically the most affordable way to get into the building while still giving you a full view of the arena setup.
• Closest to the action: Floor seats and front-row lower-bowl sections place you nearest the stage, playing surface, ring, or event floor.
• Best overall experience: Lower-bowl center sections offer strong sightlines for both sports and concerts, balancing proximity with a wider view of the full event.
• Premium and suite options: Suites and premium club seating accommodate groups and provide upgraded amenities for guests looking for a more private or elevated experience.
• For groups: Coordinating seats early is especially helpful for popular concerts, family shows, and major sports events when contiguous seats can move quickly.
• General admission: Some concerts can use a general-admission floor configuration, giving fans festival-style flexibility on the event floor.

Getting Ready for Your Sames Auto Arena Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical preparations make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at an indoor arena where parking, security, and concourse traffic can all build before major events.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before departing so you're ready at the arena entrance without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having for a full evening.
• Arrive early. Arrive with enough time for parking and security screening, as lots and entrances fill before major events.
• Wear the right footwear. Sames Auto Arena is a standard indoor arena with concourse walking and stairs to reach upper sections, so comfortable shoes make moving around easier.
• Plan for Laredo heat outside the building. The venue is indoors and climate-controlled, but Laredo summers are hot in parking lots and during arrival or departure.
• Know your section. Knowing your section in advance helps you locate the nearest concourse entry from the surrounding parking lots and move more efficiently once inside.
• Check the bag policy in advance. Reviewing the venue's guidelines before packing prevents delays at security.
