About Tulane Green Wave Football

Tulane football has a long history in college football, dating back to 1893, and today competes at the NCAA Division I FBS level in the American Athletic Conference (The American). The Green Wave have won AAC championships in 2022 and 2024, and the program’s modern high point includes the 2022 Cotton Bowl Classic win over USC (46–45) after a 12–2 season. Notable figures tied to Tulane’s story include quarterback Shaun King, first-round NFL Draft pick Patrick Ramsey, record-setting quarterback Michael Pratt, star running back Tyjae Spears, and head coach Willie Fritz (2016–2023), who guided the program’s resurgence.

On game day, Tulane plays at Yulman Stadium on the university’s uptown campus in New Orleans, Louisiana. Opened in 2014, the stadium has an approximate capacity of 30,000 and marked a major return of Tulane football to campus after decades away. The atmosphere is known for its strong student presence and a modern, close-to-the-field feel, with premium hospitality options including the Glazer Family Club and other club and suite areas.

Tulane’s matchups can draw extra attention when historic and regional rivals come up on the schedule. Rivalries include the LSU Tigers (known as “The Battle for the Rag”), along with long-running and conference-era series against Southern Miss, plus AAC battles with Memphis and Houston. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing Tulane Green Wave Football tickets early is the smartest move.

Best Seats for Tulane Green Wave Football Games

The right seat depends on what kind of game day experience you're after:

• Best value: End-zone seating and upper sideline general admission areas — a full-stadium perspective, plenty of crowd energy, and a typically lower price point
• Closest to the action: Lower sideline seating in the east and west stands — feel the pace up close from the main bowl
• Best overall view: Midfield lower sideline seats on the west and east sides near midfield (the 50-yard line) — strong sightlines as plays develop across the field
• For groups and premium experiences: The Glazer Family Club, club-level premium seating along the west sideline, plus suites and loge-style premium hospitality areas — added comfort and a more private setting for groups

If you’re organizing a group outing or targeting a high-demand AAC matchup, it’s smart to shop early so you can keep seats together in the section you want.

Getting Ready for Tulane Green Wave Football Game Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially with mobile ticketing and campus-area traffic patterns around a busy stadium.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Yulman Stadium gets congested on game days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
• Arrive early. Gates typically open approximately 90 minutes before kickoff, so give yourself extra time for entry and security on busier matchups.
• Public Transit: Yulman Stadium is accessible via the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line and New Orleans RTA bus service serving the uptown campus area.
• Parking: Expect on-campus and nearby neighborhood/garage parking, with limited on-site lots filling early and additional parking around the uptown area.
• Rideshare: Use the designated pickup/drop-off zones near the campus perimeter around Freret Street and the uptown campus.
• Bag Policy: Yulman Stadium uses a clear-bag policy consistent with NCAA/stadium standards — clear plastic bags up to roughly 12"x6"x12" and small clutch bags are permitted, while larger bags and backpacks are prohibited.
• Payment: Bring a card or mobile payment — Yulman Stadium is cashless.
• Re-entry: Re-entry is generally not permitted — plan to stay once you're inside.
