Getting Ready for American University Eagles Basketball Game Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially on an urban campus where parking and entry lines can take extra time during high-demand games.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Bender Arena gets congested on game days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
• Arrive early. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand nights.
• Public Transit: Washington Metro access via the Tenleytown–AU station (Red Line) connects to the campus, with an AU shuttle serving the university.
• Plan for parking. On-campus parking is available near the Sports Center, and availability can be limited.
• Rideshare: Drop-off and pickup are available at campus access points near the arena.
• Check the bag policy before you go so there are no surprises at the entrance.
