About We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort Ballroom

We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort Ballroom is a multi-purpose event space inside We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort at 10438 Wekopa Way in Fort McDowell, Arizona. The current We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort opened in late 2020, replacing the former Fort McDowell Casino, and it is owned and operated by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. Capacity varies by configuration, with the ballroom accommodating several hundred to roughly a thousand guests depending on whether the room is arranged theater-style, banquet-style, or for a reception.

The ballroom is part of a regional casino-resort entertainment destination in the Sonoran Desert northeast of Scottsdale and Fountain Hills. Its event mix includes live concerts and musical performances, comedy, banquets and galas, corporate conferences and meetings, and special ticketed resort events. Because the space is reconfigurable, the guest experience can change from one event to the next, from seated performance layouts to catered ballroom gatherings.

The venue is known for combining a modern indoor ballroom with the convenience of a self-contained resort setting that includes gaming, lodging, dining, bars, catering, and golf on site.

Location & Transportation

We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort Ballroom is located at 10438 Wekopa Way, Fort McDowell, AZ 85264 — northeast of Scottsdale and Fountain Hills in a desert resort setting near the McDowell Mountains and Four Peaks.

Driving and Parking: The resort is accessed primarily by car off Fort McDowell Road. On-site resort parking is available, and guests are directed to park in the lot closest to the pool and follow a marked path to the resort lobby. Because the property sits outside the denser Phoenix metro core, building extra drive time into your plans is helpful, especially when traveling from Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, or farther across the Valley.

Rideshare: Rideshare drop-off and pickup are available at the resort entrance. The remote desert location can mean longer wait times for return trips after an event, so it is wise to account for a possible delay when arranging post-show transportation.

Nearby Accommodation: The most convenient lodging is on site at We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort, which features 246 guestrooms. Additional hotel options are available in nearby Fountain Hills and Scottsdale for guests who want to stay within driving distance of the resort.

Venue Navigation

We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort Ballroom is a flexible indoor ballroom inside the resort, so navigation is centered on arriving at the property, entering through the lobby, and following event directions to the ballroom or event space. Understanding the resort layout in advance helps make arrival smoother, especially for guests parking on site and walking in from the designated lot.

Entrances and Access: Guests enter through the resort’s main lobby and are directed from there to the ballroom or event space. Parking is nearest the pool, with a marked path leading from the lot to the lobby.

Accessibility: As a modern resort facility, accessible parking and accessible routes to event spaces are available.

We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort Ballroom maintains security and venue policies that are updated regularly and may vary by event. Before attending, reviewing the current policy on the venue's official website is strongly recommended.

Getting Ready for Your We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort Ballroom Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical preparations make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at a resort destination northeast of the Phoenix metro.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before departing so you're ready at the entrance without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having for a full evening.
• Arrive early. Give yourself extra time for the remote location northeast of the Phoenix metro and the drive from Scottsdale or Fountain Hills.
• Wear the right footwear. The resort grounds are flat and modern, but guests may walk from parking through the lobby to the event space, so comfortable shoes are helpful.
• Dress in layers. The venue sits in the Sonoran Desert, where daytime heat can be extreme in summer and evenings cool in winter. Plan for indoor climate control plus outdoor transitions between parking and the resort.
• Build extra time into your transit plan. Driving from the Phoenix metro, Scottsdale, or Fountain Hills can take longer than expected around event times, so leave enough room in your schedule for arrival, parking, and the walk to the lobby.
• Know your entrance. Follow the marked path from the parking lot nearest the pool to the resort lobby, then continue to the ballroom.
• Check the bag policy in advance. Reviewing the venue's guidelines before packing prevents delays at security.
