About Pickering Casino Resort

Pickering Casino Resort is a multi-purpose entertainment destination located at 888 Durham Live Ave in Pickering, Ontario. The casino opened in 2021, and the hotel and expanded resort facilities followed, with the integrated resort complex fully operational by 2022. The property is operated by Great Canadian Entertainment, also known as Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, and includes a flexible, multi-configuration live-event arena where capacity varies by event setup.

The resort is one of the larger integrated casino destinations near Toronto and combines a roughly 96,000-square-foot casino floor, a 275-room hotel, multiple restaurants and bars, and dedicated ticketed entertainment space. Events at The Arena at Pickering Casino Resort include live concerts across genres, comedy shows, and other ticketed entertainment, while the broader property supports gaming, dining, nightlife, and overnight stays.

Guests often describe Pickering Casino Resort as clean, modern, and resort-style, with a central concourse offering varied food options and a full entertainment experience built around the Durham Live development.

Location & Transportation

Pickering Casino Resort is located at 888 Durham Live Ave, Pickering, ON L1W 0C1 — in the eastern Greater Toronto Area as part of the Durham Live development.

Driving and Parking: Pickering Casino Resort is primarily a car-accessed destination, with straightforward access from Highway 401. The resort provides on-site parking as part of the complex, making driving the most practical option for many eventgoers, especially for evening shows.

Transit: GO Transit serves Pickering via Pickering GO Station on the Lakeshore East line. Reaching the resort from transit typically requires a connecting bus or rideshare, so transit can work for visitors coming from Toronto or elsewhere in the GTA, but it is secondary to driving for most guests.

Rideshare: Rideshare drop-off and pickup are practical at the resort's main entrances. After larger shows, standard post-event waits can build as crowds leave at the same time, so allowing a few extra minutes after the performance can make pickup smoother.

Nearby Accommodation: The resort includes its own 275-room on-site hotel, which is the most convenient lodging option for eventgoers attending a show at The Arena. Additional hotels are also available elsewhere in Pickering and the neighbouring Ajax area.

Venue Navigation

Pickering Casino Resort is a large integrated resort complex, so knowing the basic layout before you arrive helps you move from parking or drop-off into the arena area efficiently. The Arena is located within the resort, with event access connected through the property's main guest areas.

Entrances and Access: Guests access the arena through the resort's main entrances. The Arena box office is located at the lobby entrance of the venue and opens on event days only, approximately two hours before event time.

Concourse Levels: The resort features a main concourse with varied food and amenity options. The Arena itself is a flexible event space within the complex, with seating configuration changing based on the show.

Dining Options

Inside Pickering Casino Resort

Pickering Casino Resort offers multiple on-site dining options, including restaurants, a coffee shop/café, and three bars. Food options are available along the main concourse, making it easy to build dinner, drinks, or a quick bite into the same visit as a concert or comedy show.

Outside the Venue — Pickering and Ajax

Additional dining is available throughout the surrounding Pickering and Ajax areas. The resort sits near Ajax Convention Centre and Millennium Square, giving visitors more options before or after an event if they plan to spend time in the area.

Security & Policies

Pickering Casino Resort maintains security and venue policies that are updated regularly and may vary by event. Before attending, reviewing the current policy on the venue's official website is strongly recommended.

Entry Procedures: Digital ticket verification applies for arena events. The box office opens approximately two hours before event time on show days, and having your tickets ready before reaching the entrance helps keep the line moving.

Getting Ready for Your Pickering Casino Resort Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical steps make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at a resort complex where parking, dining, casino activity, and show traffic can all be part of the same night.
