About Hodges Stadium

Hodges Stadium opened in 2003 and is owned and operated by the University of North Florida. Located on the UNF campus in Jacksonville, Florida, the approximately 12,000-capacity stadium serves as an outdoor track-and-field and soccer facility built around a competition track encircling the field.

The venue is home to the North Florida Ospreys track and field program, North Florida Ospreys men’s soccer, and North Florida Ospreys women’s soccer, competing in NCAA Division I and the ASUN Conference. Its event mix centers on collegiate track-and-field meets and invitationals, NCAA soccer matches, and regional, high school, and community athletics competitions.

Hodges Stadium is recognized as one of the premier collegiate track-and-field facilities in the Southeastern United States, with a nine-lane track, natural-grass infield, and dedicated areas for sanctioned field-event competition.

Location & Transportation

Hodges Stadium is located at 1 S UNF Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32224 — on the University of North Florida campus in the Southside area of Jacksonville, roughly along the J. Turner Butler Boulevard corridor east of I-295.

Driving and Parking: Hodges Stadium is a car-access-oriented venue reached via UNF Drive and the surrounding arterial roads. On-campus parking lots serve the athletics facilities, and event parking is typically handled through campus lots near the stadium. For larger meets and matches, lots closest to the stadium can fill, so building in extra arrival time is helpful.

Rideshare: Rideshare drop-off and pickup is practical using the campus entrance and stadium access roads along UNF Drive. After high-attendance events, allowing a few extra minutes for traffic moving through campus can make pickup smoother.

Transit: Public transit service to this part of Jacksonville is limited, so most guests use personal vehicles or rideshare to reach the stadium.

Nearby Accommodation: Lodging is concentrated along the J. Turner Butler Boulevard and Southside Boulevard corridors and near the St. Johns Town Center. These areas offer convenient access by car to the UNF campus and the stadium.

Venue Navigation

Hodges Stadium has an open-air athletics layout, with the spectator grandstand positioned along the competition track and field-event areas. Understanding the basic setup before you arrive helps you choose the right viewing area and move efficiently from campus parking to your seat.

Entrances and Access: Access is through the University of North Florida campus off UNF Drive, with entry to the stadium grounds leading toward the grandstand along the track.

Seating Levels: Seating is organized as open-air grandstand seating along the competition track, with one primary spectator tier facing the oval and infield. For most events, spectators choose general-admission seats along the straightaway and bends of the track.

Accessibility: As a public university facility, Hodges Stadium provides accessible seating and parking in accordance with ADA requirements.

Getting to Your Section: General-admission grandstand seating gives guests flexibility to find seats along the track. For track meets, center areas along the home straightaway provide a strong view of finish-line action, while soccer spectators often prefer areas with clear midfield sightlines.

Dining Options

Inside Hodges Stadium

Concessions are typically available at larger meets and matches inside Hodges Stadium. Arriving early can help you get settled, visit concessions, and find your preferred spot in the grandstand before competition begins.

Outside the Venue — Jacksonville Southside

Dining near Hodges Stadium is concentrated around the St. Johns Town Center and along the Southside Boulevard and Town Center Parkway corridors, a short drive from the UNF campus. These areas are the most practical options for a meal before or after an event.

Security & Policies

Hodges Stadium maintains security and venue policies that are updated regularly and may vary by event. Before attending, reviewing the current policy on the venue's official website is strongly recommended.

Bag Policy: Standard University of North Florida athletics event policies apply, and bag restrictions or clear-bag expectations may be in effect for larger events.

Commonly Prohibited Items: Typical collegiate-athletics restrictions apply, generally including weapons and outside alcohol.

Entry Procedures: Digital ticket verification and bag inspection may apply at larger ticketed events. Arriving with a compliant bag and pre-downloaded tickets helps speed entry.

How Much Do Tickets to Hodges Stadium Cost?

Hodges Stadium ticket prices vary significantly depending on the type of event, the team or meet, seating section, and demand — which is what you'd expect from a venue that hosts everything from affordable collegiate soccer matches to ASUN Conference championships and nationally attended invitationals.

For track-and-field meets, tickets are often low-cost or modestly priced, typically in the low double digits for general admission. Higher-profile invitationals, championship meets, and events drawing elite competitors can create stronger demand.

For collegiate soccer matches, pricing is generally affordable, often in the low double digits, and some events may be free. Matchups, opponent quality, conference status, and overall demand can all influence availability.

For higher-profile meets and marquee matches, buying earlier generally secures better availability. As inventory tightens closer to the event, the best remaining options can become harder to find.

Hodges Stadium Seating Guide

Hodges Stadium has an open-air grandstand layout centered on the track, infield, and field-event areas. Because the venue hosts both track-and-field competition and soccer, the best seat depends on whether you want finish-line views, midfield sightlines, or close proximity to the action.

Best Seats at Hodges Stadium

• Best value: General grandstand seating — Most events use affordable general-admission seating, making the grandstand a strong value for fans who want flexibility and a clear view of the competition area.
• Closest to the action: Front rows of the grandstand nearest the track and sideline — These seats put you closest to the athletes, the track, and the field.
• Best overall experience: Center grandstand seats along the home straightaway — These areas offer the fullest view of finish-line action for track meets and strong midfield sightlines for soccer.
• General admission: General admission is typical for events at Hodges Stadium — Arriving early gives you more choice within the grandstand, especially for larger meets and matches.

Getting Ready for Your Hodges Stadium Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical preparations make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at an outdoor campus stadium like this.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before departing so you're ready at the gate without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having for a full evening.
• Arrive early. Give yourself time to navigate campus access and parking, especially for larger meets and matches when lots near the stadium can fill.
• Wear the right footwear. Hodges Stadium is an open-air athletics venue with grandstand seating, walkways, and campus walking, so comfortable footwear is advisable.
• Dress in layers. The stadium is fully outdoors and exposed to North Florida sun, heat, and humidity in warmer months, with cooler evenings possible during late winter and early spring track season. Dress for the conditions and consider sun protection.
• Build extra time into your transit plan. Campus access and event parking can take longer for larger meets and matches, so arriving early helps you settle in before competition starts.
• Check the bag policy in advance. Reviewing the venue's guidelines before packing prevents delays at security.
