About A and R Music Bar

A and R Music Bar, officially styled as A&R Music Bar and also known as A&R Bar, is a small live music club located at 391 Neil Ave in Columbus, Ohio. Operated by PromoWest Productions, an AEG Presents company, the venue holds approximately 400 guests and functions as an intimate bar-style room within the live-music cluster around the Arena District area.

The venue is regarded as one of Columbus’s go-to small rooms for emerging and touring acts. Its concert calendar spans rock, indie, punk, pop, hip-hop, metal, and singer-songwriter performances, with shows often concentrated on Thursday through Saturday nights. Many events are all-ages, making the room a flexible stop for both developing artists and cult acts playing smaller markets.

Inside, the general-admission floor keeps the audience close to the performance, giving A and R Music Bar its defining club feel: a compact room, a nearby bar, and a stage-centered layout built for live music.

Location & Transportation

A and R Music Bar is located at 391 Neil Ave, Columbus, OH 43215 — near downtown Columbus, the Arena District, and the Victorian Village area.

Driving and Parking: Street parking and nearby surface lots and garages in the Arena District and downtown serve the venue. Expect to pay for parking on busier event nights, especially when a show overlaps with other downtown events, and build in extra time before doors.

Transit: COTA bus service runs through the surrounding neighborhood. Columbus has no rail transit, so buses, personal vehicles, and rideshare are the main ways to reach the venue.

Rideshare: Uber and Lyft are widely used in Columbus and are a practical option for A and R Music Bar. Drop-off and pickup along Neil Avenue near the venue is straightforward, though post-show demand can increase when several downtown events end around the same time.

Nearby Accommodation: Numerous downtown Columbus hotels are within a short drive or rideshare of the venue. Lodging in the Arena District and Short North also works well for visitors who want easy access to the show and nearby dining before or after the event.

Venue Navigation

A and R Music Bar is a single-room, standing-room club, so navigation is simple compared with larger multi-level venues. Planning your arrival still matters because general-admission positioning is first-come, and arriving earlier can help you get closer to the stage.

Entrances and Access: Guests enter at street level from Neil Avenue. The venue’s compact layout keeps the route from entry to floor and bar straightforward.

Seating Levels: A and R Music Bar uses a single-level club layout with a general-admission standing floor and bar. There is no tiered seating bowl, so your experience is shaped by where you choose to stand once you enter.

Getting to Your Section: As a general-admission room, there are no assigned sections for most shows. Arriving at doors gives you the best chance at spots near the stage or rail, while later arrivals can still find standing-room positions farther back in the room.

How Much Do Tickets to A and R Music Bar Cost?

A and R Music Bar ticket prices vary widely depending on the type of event, the artist, seating section, and demand — which is what you'd expect from a venue that hosts everything from emerging touring acts to higher-demand established artists.

For general-admission club concerts featuring emerging and touring acts, tickets are typically low to moderate, often starting around $15–$30 for smaller shows. Because the venue is compact, even standard general-admission tickets can place you close to the room’s energy.

For higher-demand or more established acts, tickets can run higher, roughly $30–$60 or more. Demand is driven by the artist’s draw, the specific show date, and whether inventory remains as the event gets closer.

Buying earlier is advisable at A and R Music Bar because this small room can sell out for in-demand acts. Earlier buying usually gives you better options at better prices, while the best remaining listings can rise as inventory shrinks and show night approaches.

Best Seats at A and R Music Bar

• Best value: General-admission standing room — the single-room layout keeps fans close to the performance without needing reserved seating tiers.
• Closest to the action: The front of the general-admission floor at the stage rail — this is the best choice for maximum proximity to the artist.
• Best overall experience: Mid-room general admission — in a small GA club, sightlines are strong throughout, and a central standing spot balances proximity, sound, and room atmosphere.
• General admission: Shows are general admission and standing-room, so your position is first-come once you enter.
