About Southern Miss Basketball

Southern Miss Golden Eagles men’s basketball represents The University of Southern Mississippi at the NCAA Division I level and competes in the Sun Belt Conference (beginning with the 2023–24 season). The program’s history includes multiple appearances in both the NCAA Tournament and the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), with its peak competitive era coming in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some of the most notable figures in Golden Eagles basketball include Clarence Weatherspoon, longtime head coach M.K. Turk, standout scorer Joe Dawson, and early-era pro player Wendell Ladner.

Golden Eagles home games are played at Reed Green Coliseum, an on-campus, multi-purpose arena that opened in 1965 and seats approximately 8,095 fans. As the home for Southern Miss men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball, Reed Green delivers an intimate setting where crowd energy carries—especially during conference matchups and marquee games.

Southern Miss has built demand around regional and conference-history rivalries, including longstanding matchups with Memphis (Metro and Conference USA eras), Tulane, and UAB. In the Sun Belt, regional games with South Alabama and Louisiana have grown in significance. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing Southern Miss Golden Eagles Basketball tickets early is the smartest move.

Getting Ready for Southern Miss Golden Eagles Basketball Game Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially at an on-campus venue where parking, entry flow, and pre-tip timing can shape your whole arrival.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Reed Green Coliseum gets congested on game days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
• Arrive early. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand nights.
• Check the bag policy before you go so there are no surprises at the entrance. Southern Miss athletics enforces a clear-bag policy with restrictions on bag size and prohibited items.
• Plan for on-campus parking. On-campus parking lots serve Reed Green Coliseum on game days.
• Bring a card or mobile payment — Reed Green Coliseum is cashless.
