About Northern Colorado Bears Football

Northern Colorado Bears football represents the University of Northern Colorado at the NCAA Division I FCS level as a member of the Big Sky Conference. The program’s most celebrated era came in Division II, when head coach Joe Glenn guided the Bears to back-to-back NCAA Division II National Championships in 1996 and 1997—a defining achievement in school football history.

The Bears have also produced standout talent, including Vincent Jackson, a Northern Colorado wide receiver who went on to a successful NFL career with the San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and earned multiple Pro Bowl selections. Those championship teams from 1996 and 1997 remain the standard-bearers for Bears football tradition.

On home Saturdays, Northern Colorado plays at Nottingham Field on the UNC campus in Greeley, Colorado. Opened in 1994, the stadium offers an up-close experience with an approximately 8,500 capacity and a natural grass playing surface—an intimate setting where student support, the local community, and Klawz the Bear help set the tone on game day.

Closest to the action: Reserved sideline seating — get near the field and feel the pace of college football from snap to whistle
Best overall view: Midfield sideline sections near the 50-yard line — balanced sightlines that make it easier to track formations and see plays develop across the field
For groups and premium experiences: Choose adjacent sideline seats in the same section/row area — a simple way to keep everyone together for birthdays, alumni gatherings, and larger friend groups
