About Nicholls Football

Nicholls football began in 1972 and competes in NCAA Division I FCS as a member of the Southland Conference. The program’s most celebrated stretch came under head coach Tim Rebowe, highlighted by Southland Conference championships in 2018 and 2019 and FCS playoff appearances in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Notable figures tied to the program include Tim Rebowe, record-setting quarterback Chase Fourcade, and running back Dontrell Taylor.

On fall Saturdays, Nicholls plays at John L. Guidry Stadium in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Opened in 1972 with an approximate capacity of 10,500, it offers a community-oriented FCS game-day environment where red and gray show up strong in the stands.

Within the Southland slate, matchups against McNeese State, Southeastern Louisiana, and Northwestern State stand out as key in-state rivalries that can drive ticket demand. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing Nicholls Colonels Football tickets early is the smartest move.
