About New Mexico State Aggies Baseball

New Mexico State competes in NCAA Division I baseball as a member of Conference USA (C-USA). Baseball has been played at NMSU since the early 20th century, and the program has built its history through conference success across multiple affiliations, including Western Athletic Conference (WAC) honors. The Aggies have also reached NCAA Tournament regionals in select seasons, powered by conference tournament championships.

A central figure in the program’s story is Presley Askew, the longtime head coach for whom New Mexico State’s home ballpark is named. Over the decades, the Aggies have also produced players who advanced to professional baseball through the MLB Draft.

On game day, the Aggies play at Presley Askew Field on the NMSU campus in Las Cruces, New Mexico. With a capacity of approximately 1,000 and an on-campus layout, it’s a classic college-baseball environment where fans sit close to the field. Opened in the 1960s era and set against a desert backdrop, the ballpark pairs favorable spring weather with an intimate atmosphere that keeps you connected to every inning.

Rivalries and key matchups can drive demand, especially the in-state Rio Grande Rivalry against the University of New Mexico Lobos, which brings Las Cruces and Albuquerque together across sports, including baseball. In the current C-USA era, competitive conference games against opponents like the Liberty Flames and Sam Houston Bearkats can also become high-interest dates. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing New Mexico State Aggies Baseball tickets early is the smartest move.

How Much Do New Mexico State Aggies Baseball Tickets Cost?

New Mexico State Aggies Baseball tickets typically range from around $5 to $15 for general admission and reserved seating to $15–$15 or more for reserved seating, with suites and hospitality packages running higher.

Prices move most when the matchup and calendar line up with higher demand. In-state rivalry games against New Mexico, weekend series, and conference games with postseason or conference tournament implications are common drivers that can push pricing upward. For value, weekday games and less in-demand matchups are often a strong place to start if you’re trying to keep the outing budget-friendly.

Best Seats for New Mexico State Aggies Baseball Games

The right seat depends on what kind of game day experience you're after:

• Best value: General admission bleacher and berm/outfield areas — elevated angles and a relaxed way to take in the game at a lower price point
• Closest to the action: Single-level grandstand seating along the baselines — stay near the field and feel every at-bat and defensive play up close
• Best overall view: Seats directly behind home plate — a clear look at pitch location, defensive positioning, and how plays develop across the diamond
• For groups and premium experiences: Look for the best available reserved seating options for your group — buying together early helps you keep everyone in the same area for high-demand matchups

Getting Ready for New Mexico State Aggies Baseball Game Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially on a campus ballpark setup where traffic and entry lines can pick up closer to first pitch.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Presley Askew Field gets congested on game days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
• Arrive early. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand nights.
• Public Transit. Las Cruces is served by local RoadRUNNER Transit, and the NMSU campus is accessible by city bus routes. Using transit can be a convenient way to reach campus on game day.
• Parking. On-campus parking lots near the athletic facilities are available for events, so plan ahead and give yourself a little extra time to get parked and walk in.
• Check the bag policy before you go so there are no surprises at the entrance.
