About CSU Bakersfield Baseball

CSU Bakersfield competes as an NCAA Division I baseball program in the Mountain West Conference. The Roadrunners have a proud history that includes a major milestone: the program won the NCAA Division II National Championship in 1988, a signature achievement that still stands out in CSUB baseball history.

Roadrunners home games are played at Hardt Field in Bakersfield, California, an on-campus ballpark known for its close-up viewing experience. With an intimate capacity of approximately 500–1,000, the atmosphere is community- and student-driven, making it easy to settle in, follow the action on the diamond, and enjoy the pace of college baseball.

As CSUB has transitioned into its Division I era—competing in the WAC previously and now in the Mountain West—certain matchups have helped drive local interest, including competitive games against Grand Canyon and California Baptist from the program’s WAC chapter.
