About the Binghamton Black Bears

The Binghamton Black Bears bring affordable, family-friendly hockey to Binghamton, New York as members of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL). Founded in 2021 as an expansion franchise, the Black Bears compete in a single-A professional independent league that serves as a proving ground for players working to climb to higher levels of pro hockey.

The team plays home games at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena, a downtown venue that opened in 1973 and holds approximately 4,700 fans for hockey. The arena’s intimate setup helps create a loud, engaged atmosphere where fans are close to the ice and the pace feels fast from virtually every angle.

On the ice, Binghamton has quickly established itself as one of the FPHL’s strongest draws, posting strong regular-season results and competing for the Commissioner’s Cup since entering the league.
