About AFC Ajax

Founded in 1900, AFC Ajax are the most successful club in Dutch football history, competing in the Eredivisie and standing among Europe’s most decorated teams. Ajax have won 36 Eredivisie titles, 20 KNVB Cups, and four European Cup/Champions League titles (1971, 1972, 1973, 1995)—including a historic three-peat that helped define the “Total Football” era. The club’s story is tied to icons like Johan Cruyff, Rinus Michels, Marco van Basten, and Dennis Bergkamp, with other major Ajax figures including Frank Rijkaard, Edwin van der Sar, and Patrick Kluivert.

Ajax play at Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, a modern multi-purpose stadium that opened in 1996 and was renamed in honor of Cruyff in 2018. With a capacity of approximately 55,000 and one of Europe’s first major retractable roofs, the venue is built for big-stage nights—whether it’s Eredivisie action or a major European fixture.

In the Eredivisie, demand spikes for rivalry matchups—especially De Klassieker vs. Feyenoord Rotterdam and high-stakes meetings with PSV Eindhoven, which can be pivotal in the title race. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing AFC Ajax tickets early is the smartest move.

How Much Do AFC Ajax Tickets Cost?

AFC Ajax tickets typically range from around €25 to €40 for upper-tier/general seating to €75–€150+ or more for premium lower-tier and business/hospitality areas, with suites and hospitality packages running higher.

Pricing is most influenced by the opponent and competition. Rival matches like De Klassieker (Feyenoord), clashes with PSV, and Champions League fixtures tend to be the most in-demand, with seat location and premium hospitality also playing a major role. Date and day of week can matter as well—so if you’re flexible, comparing multiple match days can help you find strong value.

No hidden fees. At Box Office Ticket Sales, the price you see is the price you pay. All fees are shown before checkout — no surprise charges when you reach the final step.

AFC Ajax Seating at Johan Cruijff ArenA

Johan Cruijff ArenA features a three-tier bowl that wraps around the pitch, creating a strong “in-the-bowl” feel no matter where you sit. Between upper-ring value sections, sideline seats built for tactical views, and middle-tier hospitality areas, you can choose a match day setup that fits your budget and how you like to watch football.

Best Seats for AFC Ajax Games

The right seat depends on what kind of match day experience you're after:

• Best value: Upper-ring sections and seating behind the goals — elevated views, crowd energy, and a lower price point
• Closest to the action: Lower-ring seating — feel the pace up close as play moves through your side of the pitch
• Best overall view: Central sideline sections at midfield in the lower and middle tiers — excellent sightlines for seeing attacks build and shape across the pitch
• For groups and premium experiences: Business seats, skyboxes/VIP suites, and hospitality lounges concentrated in the middle tier along the sides — added comfort and space for groups

If you’re organizing a group outing or targeting a high-demand matchup, it’s smart to line up seats early so everyone can sit together.

Getting Ready for AFC Ajax Match Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially with match day transit crowds and entry screening at Johan Cruijff ArenA.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Mobile service near Johan Cruijff ArenA gets congested on match days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
• Arrive early. Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand nights.
• Public Transit: Use Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station (train and metro) for direct access, and consider metro lines 50 and 54, which serve the venue.
• Rideshare: Plan for designated pickup/drop-off points around the Bijlmer ArenA transport hub.
• Bag Policy: Large bags and backpacks are generally prohibited; bring only a small bag and expect it to be searched at entry.
• Payment/Cashless: Bring a card or mobile payment — Johan Cruijff ArenA is cashless.
• Re-entry: Re-entry is generally not permitted — plan to stay once you're inside.
