About Sanford Pentagon

Sanford Pentagon opened in 2013 at 2210 W. Pentagon Place in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as the centerpiece of the Sanford Sports Complex. Owned and operated by Sanford Health, the facility combines the intimate Heritage Court with a broader nine-court athletic complex used for basketball, tournaments, recreation, and ticketed events. Heritage Court seats approximately 3,250 fans, while the overall facility accommodates larger totals during multi-court tournament activity.

The venue is nationally recognized for its distinctive Heritage Court, which uses center-court positioning, throwback scoreboards, brick-and-period detailing, and close sightlines to create a classic mid-century fieldhouse feel. Sanford Pentagon hosts college basketball, professional and G League basketball, youth and tournament play, concerts, and community and family events. It has hosted Summit League events, early-season NCAA Division I men’s basketball showcases, and home-court games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Its signature feature remains Heritage Court, an intimate single-bowl basketball setting surrounded by the larger nine-court complex.

How Much Do Tickets to Sanford Pentagon Cost?

Sanford Pentagon ticket prices vary widely depending on the type of event, the artist or team, seating section, and demand — which is what you'd expect from a venue that hosts everything from youth tournaments and day-pass events to college basketball showcases, professional basketball, and concerts.

For college and professional basketball, tickets can start around $15 and commonly range up to about $60, with premium seats higher. Opponent, matchup, proximity to the court, and overall demand can all influence the final price.

For tournaments and youth events, admission is often lower-cost and may be structured as day-pass admission. These events can offer strong value for fans following multiple games or courts in one visit.

For concerts and special events, pricing varies by act and is typically mid-range. Demand can rise for more popular performers, especially for seats closest to the stage or court configuration.

Buying earlier generally provides better seat selection and pricing for higher-demand events. As inventory shrinks and the event date approaches, prices for the best remaining sections often rise.

Getting Ready for Your Sanford Pentagon Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical steps make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at a sports complex where tournament days and high-demand games can bring heavier parking and entry activity.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before departing so you're ready at the entrance without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having for a full evening.
• Arrive early. Arrive early for tournaments and high-demand games to allow for parking at the complex.
• Wear the right footwear. Sanford Pentagon is an indoor facility with a standard arena concourse and generally flat access, but supportive shoes are still helpful for tournament days or longer visits.
• Dress in layers. The venue is indoors and climate-controlled, but Sioux Falls winters can be cold when arriving and leaving.
• Build extra time into your transit plan. The venue is located in a car-oriented area near I-29, so extra arrival time helps on busier event days.
• Check the bag policy in advance. Reviewing the venue's guidelines before packing prevents delays at security.
