About Propst Arena At the Von Braun Center

Propst Arena At the Von Braun Center is the primary arena space within the City-owned Von Braun Center complex at 700 Monroe St SW in downtown Huntsville. The Von Braun Center complex opened in 1975, and the arena was later named Propst Arena through a naming-rights arrangement. Operated by the Von Braun Center, the arena holds approximately 8,000 guests for arena configurations, roughly 6,600 for hockey, and about 7,200 for basketball, with capacity adjusting for smaller concert setups.

The arena serves as North Alabama’s main indoor destination for touring concerts, professional hockey, basketball, family shows, comedy, and touring productions. It is home to the Huntsville Havoc of the SPHL and sits within a larger campus that also includes a concert hall, playhouse, exhibit halls, and meeting spaces, giving the complex the flexibility to host events of many sizes under one roof.

Inside the arena, a 110-by-212-foot floor, two LED video boards, and an LED lighting system support both live entertainment and sporting events.
