Its signature annual production, The Nutcracker, follows Clara, a young girl who receives a nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve and is swept into a magical dream journey. The story moves from a festive holiday gathering into a battle with the Mouse King and a voyage to the Land of Sweets.

In The Nutcracker, the principal characters include Clara, the Nutcracker Prince, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Drosselmeyer, and the Mouse King. The ballet’s world blends 19th-century European holiday tradition with fantasy, transformation, and childhood wonder, making it one of the most accessible classical ballets for families and first-time ballet audiences.

Roswell Dance Theatre Seating Guide

Roswell Dance Theatre presents ballet and dance productions as a resident company based in Roswell, Georgia, with seasonal performances that may include classical, contemporary, benefit, and holiday programming. Where you sit shapes the experience, especially for dance, where sightlines, spacing, and full-stage visibility matter.

Best Seats for Roswell Dance Theatre

The best seats depend on whether you prefer a close view of the dancers or a wider view of the choreography across the full stage.

• Best value: Upper mezzanine and rear orchestra sections — These areas often provide a strong balance of price and visibility, especially for ballet productions where seeing the full stage picture is important.
• Closest to the stage: Front orchestra sections — These seats put you nearest to the dancers, giving you a closer look at technique, costumes, facial expression, and detail.
• Best overall experience: Mid-orchestra and front mezzanine sections — These sections usually offer the most balanced combination of proximity and full-stage perspective, making them popular for ballet and contemporary dance.
• For families with young children: Aisle seats or easy-access sections can make arrival, seating, and exits smoother for family audiences attending productions such as The Nutcracker.
• For groups: Coordinate contiguous seats early, since blocks in popular sections sell through quickly for seasonal performances and weekend dates.

Can I See Where My Seats Are?

Yes. The interactive seat map on BoxOfficeTicketSales.com shows your exact section and row placement before you buy. Use it to understand your angle to the stage, your distance from the front, and whether you're in the orchestra, mezzanine, or balcony — so the seats you choose match exactly what you're looking for before the curtain rises.

Getting Ready for Show Night

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation makes the full experience run smoothly from arrival through the final bow.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Cell service around the venue can be congested on busy performance nights. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before heading out so you're ready at the door without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard at most theaters. A portable battery pack is worth having, especially if you're combining the show with dinner or other activities.
• Arrive at least 30 minutes before curtain. Theater doors open well before the show begins; arriving early gives you time to find your seats and settle in before the house lights go down — and avoids the disruption of late seating, which many theaters restrict.
• Know the venue's phone and photography policy. Most professional ballet productions ask audiences to silence phones and refrain from recording or photographing during the performance.
• For families, prepare young audience members for a live ballet setting. Ballet performances, including seasonal productions such as The Nutcracker, are generally appropriate for most ages and family audiences.
