Show Information

The Radio City Rockettes began in 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri, when founder and original choreographer Russell Markert created the troupe as the Missouri Rockets. After the company was brought to New York, the dancers performed at the Roxy Theatre as the Roxyettes before relocating to Radio City Music Hall when the venue opened in December 1932. The Rockettes' flagship production, the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes, debuted at Radio City Music Hall in 1933 and remains an original holiday stage spectacular.

The Rockettes are an American precision dance company best known for the Christmas Spectacular, a lavish holiday variety production presented at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The show runs approximately 90 minutes and is typically performed without an intermission. The Christmas Spectacular returns to Radio City Music Hall on November 4, 2026, with 230 performances scheduled — the most ever for the production.

Over nearly a century, the Rockettes have become a signature New York City holiday tradition and one of the most recognized precision dance companies in the world. Their synchronized chorus-line style, eye-high kicks, and iconic formations have made them an American cultural institution, while the Christmas Spectacular has become one of the most-attended holiday stage productions in the world. Radio City Rockettes Seating Guide

The Radio City Rockettes perform their flagship Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall, one of New York City's most iconic theater venues. Where you sit shapes how you experience the Rockettes' precision formations, large-scale scenic design, projections, and the full sweep of the grand proscenium stage.

Best Seats for Radio City Rockettes

The best seats depend on whether you want close-up detail, full-stage perspective, or the strongest balance of view and value.

• Best value: Upper mezzanine and rear orchestra sections — These seats can provide a broad view of the stage pictures, formations, and scenic effects while often offering a more accessible price point than premium front sections.
• Closest to the stage: Front orchestra sections — Sitting close brings you nearer to the dancers, costumes, and precision footwork, creating a more immersive view of the performance.
• Best overall experience: Mid-orchestra and front mezzanine sections — These areas tend to offer a strong balance of proximity and full-stage perspective, which is especially helpful for large production numbers and synchronized formations.
• For families with young children: Aisle access can make arrival and seating easier, especially because the Christmas Spectacular runs approximately 90 minutes without an intermission.
• For groups: Coordinate contiguous seats early, since blocks in popular sections can sell through quickly during the holiday season.

Getting Ready for Show Night

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation makes the full experience run smoothly from arrival through the final bow.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Cell service around Radio City Music Hall can be congested on busy performance nights. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before heading out so you're ready at the door without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard at most theaters. A portable battery pack is worth having, especially if you're combining the show with dinner or other activities.
• Arrive at least 30 minutes before curtain. Radio City Music Hall doors open well before the show begins; arriving early gives you time to find your seats and settle in before the house lights go down — and avoids the disruption of late seating, which many theaters restrict.
• Plan for a 90-minute run with no intermission. The Christmas Spectacular is typically presented without an intermission, so plan restroom stops, snacks, and family needs before taking your seats.
• Know the venue's phone and photography policy. Professional recording and flash photography during the performance are not permitted, and audiences should silence phones during the show.
• Dress for the season. The Christmas Spectacular takes place during the November–December holiday season in New York City, so plan for winter weather and comfortable movement through busy midtown crowds.
• For families. The production is appropriate for all ages and is designed as a family-friendly holiday experience.
• Build time into your Rockefeller Center area plan. Radio City Music Hall sits in midtown Manhattan near Rockefeller Center, where holiday-season tourist crowds can be very heavy. Give yourself extra time for transit, security, and walking through the neighborhood.
