About Radford Basketball

Radford basketball competes at the NCAA Division I level in the Big South Conference, with the program’s Division I era beginning in 1984. The Highlanders have produced memorable postseason moments, including Big South Conference Tournament championships in 1998, 2009, and 2018, with the 2018 run highlighted by a buzzer-beating three-pointer in the conference title game. Notable figures connected to Radford’s men’s program include Mike Jones (hired in 2011 and the coach who led the 2018 Big South title), as well as former head coach Ron Bradley.

The Highlanders play at the Dedmon Center in Radford, Virginia, an athletic hub that also hosts other university events. Opened in 1981 with an approximate capacity of 3,000, it delivers a true mid-major college basketball experience—tight sightlines, loud stretches of play, and an arena layout that keeps you close to the court.

Within the Big South, Radford’s schedule is shaped by conference races and rivalry energy—especially matchups with the High Point Panthers, Winthrop Eagles, and in-state Big South opponent Longwood Lancers, along with historic in-state intensity from the former Big South rivalry with the Liberty Flames. If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing Radford Highlanders tickets early is the smartest move.

Radford Highlanders Seating at Dedmon Center

The Dedmon Center is an intimate, single-bowl arena where seating wraps the court with sideline and baseline views, and the close proximity of fans creates an energetic environment during Big South games.

Best Seats for Radford Highlanders Games

The right seat depends on what kind of game night experience you're after:

• Best value: Upper baseline and corner seating areas — a higher, wider look at possessions with a strong college crowd feel at a lower price point
• Closest to the action: Lower-level sideline and baseline seating — stay near the court and feel the pace up close
• Best overall view: Center-court sideline seating (near courtside) — strong sightlines as plays develop across the court
• For groups and premium experiences: Consider purchasing seats together in the same section/row to keep your group organized in one area of the arena

For rivalry games and key Big South dates, organizing group purchases early can make it much easier to find seats together.
