NHRA Carolina Nationals Tickets

Four-wide launches hit different in person—four nitro-powered cars leaving the line together, the ground shaking, and the whole Dragway reacting at once. Whether you’ve followed it for years or you’re planning your first one, NHRA Carolina Nationals tickets put you inside one of drag racing’s most distinct live spectacles at zMAX Dragway in Concord, North Carolina.

This page covers everything you need — from understanding how the NHRA Carolina Nationals works to finding the right tickets and knowing what to expect when you arrive.

About NHRA Carolina Nationals

The NHRA Carolina Nationals is an annual NHRA national event on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series calendar, held at zMAX Dragway in Concord, North Carolina. First held in 2008 alongside the opening of zMAX Dragway, the event is known for the venue’s signature 4-Wide format—an eye-catching twist that makes it a standout stop for fans who want something beyond traditional head-to-head drag racing.

Like other NHRA national events, the weekend is contested across multiple days with qualifying sessions followed by elimination rounds. At zMAX Dragway, four vehicles race simultaneously down four lanes, with the top two finishers in each quad advancing. Winners earn the iconic NHRA “Wally” trophy in each professional and sportsman class, plus valuable points toward the season championship standings—and because 4-Wide wins are relatively rare on the calendar, taking home a victory here carries extra prestige.

The event features the NHRA’s premier professional categories—Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle—along with various Sportsman categories. Recent winners at the 4-Wide Carolina Nationals include Austin Prock (Funny Car), Justin Ashley (Top Fuel), Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock), and Richard Gadson (Pro Stock Motorcycle), with stars like Brittany Force drawing attention for standout qualifying performances. Add in zMAX Dragway’s four-lane, all-concrete design and grandstands on both sides of the track, and you get a high-energy weekend built for big moments. If you’re planning to attend NHRA Carolina Nationals, browsing tickets early is the smartest move.

How Much Do NHRA Carolina Nationals Tickets Cost?

NHRA Carolina Nationals tickets typically range from around $30 to $60 for single-day general admission grandstand to $80–$150+ or more for multi-day/weekend passes, with premium packages running higher.

Prices are most influenced by day of the event (with Sunday eliminations typically commanding the highest prices), whether you choose multi-day weekend packages, and any pit/paddock access add-ons you include. NHRA Carolina Nationals Seating and Dragway Information

At zMAX Dragway, grandstands run along both sides of the strip, giving fans clear views of all four lanes—especially important for 4-Wide racing, where the spectacle happens across the full width of the track. With approximately 30,000 grandstand seats and the energy of a major motorsports campus next to Charlotte Motor Speedway, the venue is built for a loud, up-close day at the races.

Best Ways to Experience NHRA Carolina Nationals

The right access depends on what kind of race day experience you're after:

• Best value: General admission grandstand seating farther from the starting line — a lower price point while still keeping you part of the four-wide atmosphere
• Closest to the action: Pit and paddock access passes — get close-up views of teams working on the cars
• Best overall view: Seats near the starting line — prime sightlines for the launch and the 4-Wide spectacle on the track
• For groups and premium experiences: Suites and premium hospitality areas associated with the zMAX Dragway / Charlotte Motor Speedway complex — added comfort and a more private setting for groups

Getting Ready for NHRA Carolina Nationals Race Day

Once your tickets are confirmed, a little preparation goes a long way — especially for a high-volume motorsports weekend with intense on-track sound and morning entry windows.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Cellular service near large events can get congested on race days. Save them to your phone's wallet or screenshot them as a backup.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is the standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having.
• Arrive early. Spectator gates open in the morning on race days (for example, Gate 1 at 8:00 AM, with additional gates opening later). Give yourself extra time for entry and security, especially on high-demand dates.
• Parking: On-site parking is available within the Charlotte Motor Speedway / zMAX Dragway complex.
• Rideshare: Rideshare drop-off and pickup are accommodated at the complex.
• Bag policy: NHRA events generally permit soft-sided coolers and bags subject to size limits, with clear-bag guidance and prohibited-item screening at entry.
• Payment/cashless: Bring a card or mobile payment — many vendors are cashless.
• What to bring: Hearing protection is strongly recommended due to extreme nitro engine noise. Sun protection, seat cushions, and ear plugs/headphones for children are also smart adds.
