About Florida Atlantic Owls Basketball

Florida Atlantic men’s basketball began in the 1988–89 season and competes at the NCAA Division I level in the American Athletic Conference (The American), joining the league in 2023 after competing in Conference USA. The program’s signature achievement is its historic NCAA Final Four run in 2023—its first Final Four in school history—building on NCAA Tournament appearances in 2002, 2023, and 2024. Notable figures from the program’s recent rise include head coach Dusty May (2018–2024), along with key contributors such as Johnell Davis, Alijah Martin, and Vladislav Goldin.

The Owls play home games at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena in Boca Raton, Florida. Commonly referred to as FAU Arena, it’s an intimate on-campus Arena (within the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium complex) with an approximate capacity of 3,000. The building’s tight bowl keeps fans near the court, and the smaller footprint can make big moments feel even louder—especially during marquee matchups.

FAU’s move into The American elevated the week-to-week stakes, and several matchups can drive demand. Rivalries and high-interest games include Florida International Panthers (a natural South Florida rival), developing conference tensions with teams like the Memphis Tigers, and competitive matchups formed during FAU’s Conference USA tenure (including the Charlotte 49ers). If there’s a specific rivalry game you’re targeting, browsing Florida Atlantic Owls Basketball tickets early is the smartest move.
