About Phoenix Country Club

Phoenix Country Club is a private member-owned golf and country club located at 2901 N 7th St in Phoenix, Arizona. The club was founded in 1900 and moved to its present North 7th Street location in 1919, giving it one of the longest histories among private clubs in the Valley. Built around an 18-hole championship golf course, it combines a traditional club setting with a central Phoenix location just north of downtown.

The venue has a notable place in professional golf history as the longtime home of the Phoenix Open, hosting 37 editions of the PGA Tour tournament through 1986. Today, Phoenix Country Club supports golf tournaments and qualifying events, member and club events, junior and kids’ day programming, sponsor clinics, opening ceremonies, and private social and banquet functions.

Its recently re-designed 18-hole course, in-city location, and long Arizona golf legacy make Phoenix Country Club a distinctive gathering place for golf-centered events and private club functions in central Phoenix.

Location & Transportation

Phoenix Country Club is located at 2901 N 7th St, Phoenix, AZ 85014 — in central Phoenix near the North 7th Street corridor and just north of downtown.

Driving and Parking: Access is straightforward by car using North 7th Street, Thomas Road, and nearby central Phoenix arterials. On-site club parking is available for members and guests, which makes driving the primary arrival option for many events at Phoenix Country Club.

Transit: City bus routes serve the North 7th Street corridor and nearby arterial roads. Valley Metro light rail runs along Central Avenue to the west, though the final approach to the club is typically easier by car, rideshare, or local bus connection.

Rideshare: Rideshare drop-off and pickup are straightforward because the club has direct street frontage on North 7th Street. For larger tournament or ceremony events, allowing extra time for arrival and pickup helps keep the visit smoother.

Nearby Accommodation: Lodging is available throughout central Phoenix and the nearby downtown core. Hotels along Central Avenue and in the midtown district offer convenient access to the club and the surrounding dining scene.

Venue Navigation

Phoenix Country Club is built around an 18-hole golf course and clubhouse, so navigating the venue is different from moving through a single indoor bowl. Knowing the main arrival point and giving yourself time to reach the clubhouse or event area helps the day run smoothly.

Entrances and Access: The main entrance is off North 7th Street. As a private club, access is typically limited to members, guests, and ticketed or registered event attendees.

Getting Ready for Your Phoenix Country Club Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical preparations make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at an outdoor desert venue built around a golf course.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before departing so you're ready at the entrance without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having for a full evening.
• Arrive early. Give yourself time to park on-site and reach the clubhouse or event area, particularly for tournament or ceremony events.
• Wear the right footwear. Phoenix Country Club’s golf-course setting involves walking across turf and uneven outdoor terrain, so comfortable, course-appropriate footwear is advisable.
• Prepare for sun and heat. As an outdoor desert venue, Phoenix Country Club has significant exposure to sun and warm conditions, especially in hotter months. Sun protection and hydration are advisable.
• Build extra time into your arrival plan. For tournament and ceremony events, arriving with a buffer helps account for parking, walking routes, and the time needed to reach the event area.
• Check the bag policy in advance. Reviewing the venue's guidelines before packing prevents delays at security.
