Nectar's Tickets

Nectar's Tickets & Events

Nectar's has anchored Main Street in downtown Burlington since 1975 as an intimate live-music club with a bar-and-grill atmosphere, a close-quarters stage, and a history tied to Vermont music culture. Nectar's tickets put you inside the room known as the birthplace of Phish, with live music across jam, rock, funk, jazz, hip-hop, local and regional acts, DJ nights, dance parties, and late-night programming.

This page covers everything you need to know before you go — from finding the right seats to getting there, navigating the venue, and buying with confidence.

About Nectar's

Nectar's is a historic Burlington music hall and live-music club located at 188 Main Street in Burlington, Vermont. Founded in 1975 by Nectar Rorris, it has long operated as an intimate club space with a capacity of several hundred guests, centered on a main music and bar room and connected to The Lounge, formerly Metronome, at the same address.

The venue is best known as the place where Phish built an early following through residency shows, helping make Nectar's a cornerstone of Vermont's live-music scene. Over the decades, it has hosted a long succession of local, regional, and touring artists, building its reputation as a community hub for bands, DJs, late-night crowds, and fans looking for close-up performances in a small-room setting.

Inside, Nectar's keeps the feel of a classic Burlington nightclub, with a revolving neon sign, late-night hours, a full bar, casual American fare, and its well-known gravy fries.

Location & Transportation

Nectar's is located at 188 Main Street, Burlington, VT 05401 — in downtown Burlington, within walking distance of the Church Street Marketplace and close to the city's waterfront hotel district.

Transit: Nectar's sits in the downtown core, where Green Mountain Transit local bus routes serve the surrounding area. Its Main Street location makes transit practical for guests already moving through central Burlington, and the venue is also walkable from Church Street Marketplace.

Driving and Parking: Downtown Burlington street parking and nearby public garages serve the area, including the Marketplace and College Street garages. On-street spaces fill on busy nights, so allowing extra time before popular shows helps with parking and the short walk to the venue.

Rideshare: Rideshare and taxi drop-off are practical because of the central Main Street location. After late-night shows, expect the downtown area to be active as guests leave nearby restaurants, bars, and venues.

Nearby Accommodation: Downtown Burlington hotels near Church Street and the waterfront are within walking distance, making the area convenient for visitors who want to stay close to Nectar's and the surrounding nightlife.

Venue Navigation

Nectar's is a compact live-music club, so understanding the layout is mostly about knowing where the stage, bar, floor, and connected lounge spaces fit together before the room gets crowded.

Entrances and Access: Guests enter from the street-level entrance on Main Street. The connected Lounge space, formerly Metronome, operates at the same 188 Main Street address, adding another room to the overall music and nightlife complex.

Seating Levels: Nectar's uses a compact club layout with a main music and bar room and a separate upstairs or adjacent lounge room. Most shows center on a general-admission floor, with the closest views directly in front of the stage.

Getting to Your Section: For most Nectar's events, the experience is standing-room and general admission. Arriving early gives you more flexibility to choose where you stand, whether you want to be close to the stage, near the bar, or positioned with more room toward the back of the room.

Dining Options

Inside Nectar's

Nectar's offers a full bar and a bar-and-grill menu, making food and drinks part of the venue experience. The club has long been known for its gravy fries, along with casual American fare served alongside drinks. For popular late-night shows, planning food and drink orders before the room fills can make the night smoother.

Outside the Venue — Downtown Burlington

Nectar's is steps from the Church Street Marketplace, one of downtown Burlington's main dining and nightlife districts. Restaurants, bars, and cafes are clustered throughout the immediate pedestrian area, giving guests plenty of options before or after a show.

Security & Policies

Nectar's maintains security and venue policies that are updated regularly and may vary by event. Before attending, reviewing the current policy on the venue's official website is strongly recommended.

Entry Procedures: Because Nectar's is a licensed bar and live-music venue, age and ID verification may take place at the door. Many shows are 21+ or 18+ depending on programming, and having your ID and digital tickets ready helps keep the entry line moving.

How Much Do Tickets to Nectar's Cost?

Nectar's ticket prices vary significantly depending on the type of event, the artist, seating section, and demand — which is what you'd expect from a venue that hosts everything from local DJ nights to touring headliner shows.

For local and regional live music, DJ nights, and dance parties, admission is typically on the lower end, with some events using free entry or modest cover charges. These shows are often a strong value for fans who want to discover Burlington-area acts, genre nights, and late-night programming in an intimate club.

Touring and headliner shows are generally priced higher than local bills, especially when the artist has a strong following or demand builds around a limited-capacity room. Because Nectar's holds only several hundred guests, popular ticketed shows can tighten quickly once fans begin buying.

For higher-demand touring shows, buying earlier secures entry to the limited-capacity room and usually gives you the best selection before inventory narrows. As the event date approaches and available tickets shrink, the best remaining options can become harder to find.

Nectar's Seating Guide

Nectar's offers a close, standing-room club experience where the best spot depends on how close you want to be to the stage, how much room you want around you, and whether you prefer to stay near the bar or move into the center of the floor.

Best Seats at Nectar's

• Best value: General-admission entry — the format gives guests flexibility to choose a spot in the room based on arrival time, crowd size, and preferred vantage point.
• Closest to the action: The open floor directly in front of the stage — this is the place for the most immediate view of the performers in Nectar's intimate room.
• Best overall experience: A spot on the main floor with a clear line to the stage — this balances proximity, sound, and the energy of the crowd while keeping the bar and room circulation within reach.
• General admission: Nectar's shows are primarily general-admission standing-room events, which gives the room its flexible, close-quarters club feel.

Nectar's Seating Chart

You can view an interactive seating map for Nectar's events directly on BoxOfficeTicketSales.com while browsing available listings. The map lets you compare sections side by side, check row depth and distance from the stage, and see real-time pricing for what's currently available — all before committing to a purchase.

Can I See Where My Seats Are?

Yes. The interactive seat map on BoxOfficeTicketSales.com shows your exact section and row placement before you buy. Use it to understand your position in the venue, your distance from the stage, and whether you're on the general-admission floor, near the bar seating, or in the upstairs or adjacent lounge room — so the tickets you choose match exactly what you're looking for on event night.

Getting Ready for Your Nectar's Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical preparations make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at a downtown Burlington club where popular shows can fill the room and parking can tighten on busy nights.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before departing so you're ready at the entrance without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having for a full evening.
• Arrive early. Give yourself extra time before popular shows because the room has limited capacity and downtown parking can fill on busy nights.
• Wear the right footwear. Nectar's is primarily a standing-room club environment, so comfortable shoes are a smart choice for a full show on your feet.
• Dress in layers. Downtown Burlington winters are cold, so dress for New England weather when walking from parking or nearby hotels.
• Build extra time into your transit plan. The Main Street location is central, but busy nights downtown can slow parking and rideshare movement near showtime.
• Check the bag policy in advance. Reviewing the venue's guidelines before packing prevents delays at security.
