About Hyder-Burks Agricultural Pavilion

Hyder-Burks Agricultural Pavilion is a multi-purpose agricultural facility located at 2390 Gainesboro Grade in Cookeville, Tennessee. Affiliated with Tennessee Tech University’s School of Agriculture, it is built on a large scale, with approximately 3.5 acres under a single roof and an attached sales arena used for livestock marketing.

The pavilion hosts a broad event mix that includes conventions, rodeos, home and garden shows, livestock and cattle sales, trade shows, agricultural exhibitions, and community or educational events. It is named in honor of W. Clyde Hyder, a former animal sciences professor and Professor Emeritus of Tennessee Tech, and Tommy Burks, reflecting its connection to agricultural education and the Upper Cumberland region.

One of the venue’s recurring agricultural events is the annual Platinum Alliance All Breed Bull & Female Sale, where bulls and females are marketed at the Hyder-Burks Sales Arena, typically on the first Saturday of December.

Getting Ready for Your Hyder-Burks Agricultural Pavilion Event

Once your tickets are confirmed, a few practical preparations make your visit run significantly smoother — especially at an agricultural pavilion where large sales, rodeos, and trade shows can bring heavy on-site traffic.

• Download your tickets before you leave. Save your tickets to your phone's wallet or screenshot them before departing so you're ready at the entrance without needing a signal.
• Charge your phone fully. Digital ticketing is standard, and your phone is your entry. A portable battery pack is worth having for a full evening.
• Arrive early. Arrive early for large sales, rodeos, or trade shows to allow for on-site parking.
• Wear the right footwear. As an agricultural and livestock facility, closed-toe and comfortable footwear suited to barn and arena floor surfaces is advisable.
• Build extra time into your transit plan. Large sales, rodeos, and trade shows can bring more vehicles onto the property, so giving yourself extra time helps keep arrival low-stress.
• Check the bag policy in advance. Reviewing the venue's guidelines before packing prevents delays at security.
